Bedding

It hangs rather than laying on the ground

I tried adding another layer to there stand and it seems sturdy but I worry about it falling one of these days. Do these ever fall over often. I figure I would notice if a panel was staring to bend or any connectors broke before the whole thing fell over. It doesn't wobble really. I picked the whole stand up over my head and it held together. Only thing is I miscounted my extra panels and took the cage apart thinking I had enough and it takes me like 6 hours to redo the other way. Now I'm waiting for 8 more panels I need to finish the cage and lid that should come tomorrow. They seem like there fighting in the Midwest cage more now than they were before. I like the height though since the top of there cage is chest level with me it's easier to clean and I don't tower over them as much. Plus more shelving space.

I had to set there Midwest cage inside of it for now until I can hopefully rebuild the other one. I'm still so mad at myself for miscounting. I really hope I don't have to start from scratch. My anxiety always makes me worry there cage is gonna fall

It should be fine. What you could do is to buy two lengths of wood and pass them directly under the base of their floor, through the holes in the grids. That’s what I did when I moved my girls into the ground floor and had the boys living upstairs in the penthouse.

Actual Fighting or just dominance behaviours?
There is a big difference here. Dominance in teenage piggies is very normal and to be expected. You just need to let them get on with dominance. It’s something they will do throughout their whole lives.
As you’ve put them into their Midwest again, the change in territory will cause an increase in dominance. The fact the Midwest cage is a lot smaller than they have become used to is going to have an effect.

An actual fight is very different. A full on furball fight means permanent and immediate separation.

In terms of the cage and adding another level to the stand. It should be fine. People stack c&c cages to the height yours now is to have two separate cages for two separate pairs of piggies (one pair in a bottom cage, one pair at the top cage), so what you have done is not different to that. Ensure everything is cable tied and secure.

Just because it's smaller so they keep getting in each other's way. One will be sleeping the tunnel and the other goes behind him and starts nipping at him and annoying him then they chitter at each other. It'll only be another day or 2 tho. I just hope the new panels connect to the lid and I don't have to take the whole thing apart and redo it. They try to run around like they were in the other cage but they run into everything and eachother

I could put the divider in for now if I really need to buy I don't think there really hurting eachother just making more of a mess and annoying eachother

We have a double stand and I can thoroughly recommend cable ties to make it feel secure. I tried it without and while it all held together, it did feel uncomfortably wobbly!

I tried it without and while it all held together, it did feel uncomfortably wobbly!some of the clips were different on mine and didn't clip in they just sit but with ties in every corner I think that should be ok. My only worry is the smaller connectors cracking with the thicker panels in them. I cracked one because I tried taking the whole top half of the cage off with the connectors and ties on which was really stupid but I think it would take a lot of force to break them. I shook and lifted it quite a bit and it doesn't move much.

Now I'll have 20 extra panels to do something with. I wish I had the space inside for a playpen but I don't wanna take to much space from my cat either. Maybe when it gets nice out I can build an outdoor playpen. I thought about getting one of those collapsible playpens to but my space is getting tight. I really wish I could give them more floor time but with my cat and 3 other people living here plus all the stuff my grandma has stored around the house they'd end up getting lost or hurt somewhere in here. I was keeping 1 cage upstairs and one down and bringing them up for a while when I'm home. They have different houses and tunnels and hay piles in both. Then I can put them in my lap. I wish there was a way I can keep them on my bed with me without worrying about them falling off the edge.

I ordered nature's miracle urine remover enzyme cleaner to clean up cat pee in my house. Do you think it's ok to clean there cage with this to?

I’ve just quickly looked this up and it seems to mention fragrance and alcohol so personally I would not use it around the guinea pigs.
White vinegar mixed with water works on correx bases. I’d stick to that for the piggies

I just had 40 pounds of hay set to deliver in 2 days from small pet select. What's my best way of preserving it's freshness? Should I keep it sealed in the package until I'm ready to use it? Should I store it in my attic closed up since it's cooler up there?

Also I was wondering how healthy the flower tips are in Timothy hay. my piggies love those. I was thinking of trying a 10 gram bag from amazon of just the tips. Should I not give them excessive amounts of these for any reason?

I hope I picked the right cutting hay. Small pet select has first second and third cutting hay. First is supposed to be healthiest and third is supposed to be tastiest. I went with second cutting which was the most popular. I payed $50 for 40 pounds of hay. I can't believe I payed $40 before for a 9 pounds box of western forage Timothy hay
