My hyper young boar has been in with very confident Shadow. She tolerated a lot as she liked him, but also told him off when he was too much. He's a bull in a china shop. They were perfect together. Now I've lost Shadow I have to try to bond him with the most timid sow I've ever had, who hasn't been with a boar. I tried briefly, he went hyper insane and she was overwhelmed and snapping at him. I stopped it after a few seconds to let her build up a liking for him, living alongside, which I think is already happening nicely.
But I know where you're coming from worrying about a more timid sow getting overwhelmed! Hopefully it's going well if she's getting closer to him. I'm not sure whether my timid sow will cope.
Young boars are fun, Bertie knows his name now and when he's in a hyper mood, I can call his name and he'll do a zoomie, call it again and another zoomie etc. He now loves to be patted and will flump down for it, then fly off popcorning. When he arrived in July I did wonder if he'd stay still long enough for me to build a relationship with him, but it's happening. My previous boar, and the boar I had in childhood, were quite sedate, Bertie's my first insaniac boar. Fun and games
