Hi,

Which food is best to use for my guinea-pig in order to get her to gain weight?

Also which hay is best for adult sow?

Thank-you
:)

i'm not sure about general weight gaining
with mine plenty of fresh veggies and hay did the trick
but when i've had a sick pig i fed them on babyfood (like the fruit puddings and porridge) to help them get extra nourishment
if you have an underweight pig that might help?

Why do you need her to gain weight? there is a difference between "fat" and condition!

Any good quality meadow hay is fine for an adult pig, unless sow is pregnant. You can feed timothy or oat hay as a supplement, oat hay is supposed to help gain weight!

If she isnt eating well due to a medical condition, best see a vet. Critical care is a good supplement to syringe feed if she has been poorly.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I have already been to the vets today, she has lost weight due to being stress.

Therefore the vet has advise me to feed her lots of high Vit.C vegs daily, however I am just seeking for advice from you all since you've got more experience than me, and I wasen't sure if I had to change the hay?

:)
