Have just seen Betsy stood very still slightly on one side and leaning against the food bowl shaking violently. As soon as I opened the patio door she snapped out of it (the only way I can describe it) and went about her piggy business as if nothing had happened. I have never seen this before. What has just happened to my beautiful girl? I am very worried about her.

Sorry @Betsy - I’ve no advice. Just support and hugs. Does she seem herself now?
Thanks Vicki. Yes she does that's the strange thing she is bimbling around as if nothing has happend. If she had had a seizure wouldn't she be a bit floppy or disorientated?

I’ve got no experience in this but just wanted to send my love xx
Thanks Gemma!

Oh crikey how scary for you. I can't comment on behaviour after a seizure as I've never experienced them and now can't think of a member that has to be able to tag them for you

It was very scary! I did seriously think it might be the end of Betsy! So glad it doesn't seem to be. I'll pop her to the vet tomorrow for a quick check up.

Sorry to hear this, hoping someone may know what it could have been, but think a check up a good idea, sending lots of love x

Thanks Lee!

I have just had her and the other lot in for cuddletime. She is not her normal self. She is usually very noisy purring away and tonight she was really quiet. Also there was no Betsy wheak at veg time tonight which is definitely not normal. She is usually one of the first to tuck into veg but tonight it took her a while to wonder what was happening. She was there with the others but didn't get stuck in straight away.

Her right eye doesn't look normal. I have posted both eyes for a comparison.

I am now extremely worried about her!

Is there an emergency vet you can get to tonight?
I do hope there is nothing seriously wrong with your beautiful Betsy.
Love and prayers

Thanks @Merab's Slave. No piggy savvy emergency vet no. I have the first appointment I could get at my vets tomorrow morning which is 10.35. Betsy is seeing Rachel who is really good with piggies even Dennis (who hates the vets) will tolerate her.

Oh no, good luck at the vets, one thing I do know is that if there are neurological issues, it does show with the eyes in most parts. Keep a close eye on her overnight, like the wonderful piggy mum you are anyway.

Fingers crossed.x

I had a similar episode a few years back the pig was making involuntary movements, when I brought him out the eyes where flickering from side to side which is a why I asked. He had an ear infection. Glad Betsy is booked in for a little check tomorrow, I'm sure you'll be keeping a close eye, they are such a worry when they aren't themselves.

Nice to see you Jo x

It sounds neurological to me too especially if her eye is not the same as normal. My Nigel used to have fits and his eyes were strange after. Buzz too. Good you have got an appointment the morning. Is she walking ok?

Oh dear goodness! Poor sweet Betsy.
Sending many hugs to you both. I hope the vet can get to the bottom of this quickly! :hug:x

Oh no! I really hope the beautiful Betsy will be ok. I am glad you were there to witness the strange behavior and her out of character responses when you were, paws crossed your amazing care at spotting any potential issue so swiftly will also speed and recovery.
Get well soon little Betsy.

She was walking fine last time I checked.

All the best at the vets! It sounds like a fit, but have her ears checked to be safe.

Sorry to hear poor Betsy had a little episode. I also have no advice to give, but hope the visit at the vet can shed some light on it for you.

Sending you and Betsy hugs, how scary for you both. Loads of healing vibes being sent to Betsy. X
