Saxon let me pick him up this morning without too much of the Catch Me If You Can game and we had the calmest cuddle we've had since he arrived here. He wasn't too keen on eating his coriander before going in the run but he ate a bit of it. Tonight when it was Hutch Time, he went straight into the Snuggle Snack Express when I told him too. He doubled back on himself to do it too!

Miss Bramble had a case of the jumpy zoomies tonight. She must have been very happy as she's not had jumpy zoomies since she was about 6 months old.

Misty just looked at Bramble and was clearly thinking "Be dignified my girl, dignified none of this mucking around!"

I was a bit concerned because Bramble was under 1000g for the first time in along time and Saxon has also lost a bit of weight. I looked in the weight book and the weight loss correlates to when Saxon came back from Lilli's after his eventful vet trip. So it looks as if they have been "getting to know" one another.
 
We survived 5 weeks at Aunty Lilli's! Both Misty and I liked not having to endure such a rigorous daily grooming schedule. When we were put in our travel basket, we knew we were going back home. Slave (and Daddy Slave) came to collect us and we when arrived at home we were very pleased to be back in the Penthouse Suite of Betsy Towers. Slave got us out in the morning for cuddles, combs and coriander and then both Misty and I were back to the usual grooming schedule. There was so much loose fur on me that Slave said she could make another guinea pig! The cheek of it! Aunty Lilli groomed us, just not so comprehensively as Slave does. Saxon still isn't happy with being picked up and squeals and makes unhappy noises, but he is slowly getting used to it and he loves the coriander after cuddles.

Yesterday, we were put back in our travel basket and thought we were going back to Aunty Lilli's again. Imagine our shock when we found we were at the vet! The Lovely Vet Lady got Misty out of the basket and examined her and poked and prodded her, asked Slave some questions and Slave was very happy when The Lovely Vet Lady gave her a new prescription for 2 bottles of Metacam for Misty. When we got home we were put in the run for the first time as Slave wanted us to settle in for a couple of days in Betsy Towers. We were also given a lovely treat of Ready Grass. We are very happy to be back home. We did enjoy our extended holiday with Aunty Lilli but there is no place like home.

Good job, guys. Now that your slave had a relaxing vacation she can spoil you. You are all so well behaved you could really teach my boys about health checks. They both wiggle.

Dear Stripe and Chez's Slave

I'm not a lover of the dreaded weekly health check either. The weighing bit is fun and I don't mind that, nor the checking me for "lumpy bumpies that we don't know about but should". The listening to make sure I don't have funny breathing, I can tolerate but I fight like mad when it's teeth check time and if I have the endure my nails being clipped well I certainly let Slave know that I DO NOT like that!

Misty is a good girl when it comes to health checks and Saxon is still getting used to them so gets a very quick once over.

Bramble
 
Bramble and Saxon have a friendship that's getting stronger. It's very sweet to see them getting closer every day. Wherever Saxon is Bramble isn't far behind and wherever Bramble is Saxon isn't far behind. Both Misty and Bramble are letting Saxon take the lead in whether it's safe to be out and about or not. Saxon is a very happy go lucky, cheeky chappy who is getting more confident every day. I can tell he's a lovely boy who is just going to get lovelier as he matures.
