Way hey great news about bilbo and gorgeous pic!
Nice to see you on here hope you and the piggies are well :))

Poor bilbo is impacted again. He got on ok at the vets and she said his new lump feels like a cyst and to keep an eye on it. She was a little concerned about his bum as he was impacted again. He's been poorly the last few days. I've been cleaning out his bum every day got a lot out yesterday and noticed he's not eating much. Then today I've had a look and his willy is swollen I ha a good rummage and he had a bit if hay stuck in there so I've cleaned him out with a baby wipe and tiny bit of diluted medihex. Looks a lot better after the clean. Will take him to the vet I the swelling doesn't improve. I've started him up on baytril again and give him some fibreplex. Happy to report he is currently sat on the floor with me eating some spinach, apple and some dry food he has at least got something in him. He looks completely fed up :(

arrr poor Bilbo, i bet he is fed up, i would be too people rummaging in me bits.

Sending him some vibes hon, hope he is ok, and you of course xx

Oh poor little man. You are doing a very good job of caring for him. Sending him lots of hugs.

HEALING LOVES AND WHEEEEEEEEEEEEKS FROM US ALL FOR LITTLE BILBO XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I'd start and syringe feed now, they need to be eating constantly as you already know. Even if you mush up some pellets, you could also try pureeing some veggies or fruit (you can mix them too) this can often perk them up.
HUGS For you you too love XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Have you tried syringing him critical care?

Not yet I sat with him earlier and he ate some veggies and dry food from my hand. I'm gonna get him some grass and melon on my way home from work he never refuses those.

His gut needs to constantly be moving. I would really suggest you syringe feed him to help keep his strength up. Least the critical care contains all he needs to be healthy.

That's great if he'll eat his fave foods, but getting some critical care or his pellets into him will keep his gut stimulated :)

GOOD LUCK XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Be just give him some feroglobin and he's eating a pile of grass and dandilions. He does thi every few weeks when his bum is playing up. Need to remember to get him a pineapple in the morning that help with the impaction!

I've just been into the vets near work to try as get some more fibre plex as I used my last of it last night and the vet didn't no what it was!! He didn't know what frusemide is neither! After me explaining what it was and why I needed it ( my usual vets is only open in the week 9-12 so impossible to get to without booking the day off ) they didn't have any. So not impressed wih that.

I have however reserved some pro c from pets at risk down the road. As much as it pains me to spend in there needs must. Must.not.come.out.with.piggies!

He was out this morning eating some grass and his bum wasn't as bad. Just going to pet at risk now to pick up his pro biotic an anything else I can find to make him eat !

I might report that vet!

Hit him a pro biotic, pets at risk version of critical care and some excell black current pallets.

Although they did have a poor little boy on his own in the adoption corner :(

Happy to report he's just taken 15ml of mushed up pallets laced with probiotic! His bum isn't impacted at all tonight and the swelling on his willy is almost gone. Phew.

We were sat in front of Terry's cage so I tried him with a syringe full and he gobbled it up! Even tried to snatch it off me little ! Tried David to and he did the same lol all my boys have brown slobbery chins!

He's eaten a fair bit today some of his veggies he's seated himself and ive syringe fed him twice (and David and terry of course lol )

I think it may be time for me to have him PTS. He's still not eating on his own, his poops are really small, his breathing is strained and he looks as though he has given up. He is however still taking his syringe. Don't know what to do.

People in work are doin my head in " it's only a guinea pig". I really despise the human race.

Oh bless you that's such a horrible situation to be in :(
How about giving him a few more days, see if he goes peacefully in his sleep? I dont know enough about these kind of conditions to advise really, have you a cavy savy vet anywhere who might be able to advise? I know up just want to know what to do for the best. Big hugs, keep us posted xx

I've already spoke to the vet I told her what I'm doing ie doubled his frusemide as I can hear fluid on his chest, 0.5 of Bayril once a day, 0.5 of feroglobin once a day, syringe feeding every few hours and water. She said I carry on and if no improvement being him in over the weekend.

He was curled up on my chest last night makin the saddest little sounds :(
