Can you see that spot when the eye isn’t stretched? Otherwise no clue.
Hi all, wondered if anyone's ever seen this before on their guinea pigs eye. she has a black raised spot above the iris but she seems to be ok and her eye looks normal really. Is it hay poke?

Can’t see entirely clearly from the picture
Really doesn’t look like haypoke though - haypoke usually results in cloudy eye, watering, squinting
Hi there is no cloudy eye or squinting, now I'm worried![]()

The breeder I got her from said it's a mole
I'm not asking for a diagnosis, just a general what it possibly could be before I get to the vet that's allWe are not qualified to diagnose, let alone from a picture. Get your piggy to a general vet so they can do a hands on diagnosis and tell you what it is.
Good photo that. I not seen that before . . As for what breeder says . . Well I have my thoughts what I think of them.I'm not asking for a diagnosis, just a general what it possibly could be before I get to the vet that's all
Has the mark always been there? If not then I dont think thats a mole (though I am not at all knowledgeable on moles). It looks like the spot could possibly be blood from an eye injury. Though I am not a vet and not able to diagnose so whatever it is you should definitely bring your guinea pig to the vet or send them a picture. Especially if your guinea pig's eye has been tearing up, squinting, or becoming more cloudy. Best of luck, hoping your guinea pig will feel better soon!
It does look and sound like a possible hay poke in the eye. My guinea pig has done that quite a few times and it is important to keep their eye moist with saline eye drops (the tear ones) and also receive medicated eye drops from the vet (antibiotics to fight off infection, and depending on how bad the injury is a dilator to help relax the eye muscles to prevent further tearing, as well as numbing drops for pain). I know how expensive vet visits can be so I would definitely recommend calling your vet or emailing them to see if they think you should make an appointment. I've never seen the spot on my guinea pig's eye after poking and am not sure if it is blood from a ruptured vessel thats scabbing over or something embedded in the eye, whatever it is it definitely seems serious enough to get checked out because if it is an eye injury your guinea pig will most likely need antibiotic drops (honestly great to have for the next accident) as well as a doctor to make sure nothing is stuck in the eye and to see the extent of the damage; and if it is not damage than I have no idea what it is which also probably calls for a trip to the vet <3No it's just appeared in the last 2 days , shes been hiding under lots of hay and getting nudged alot by the other girls so i hope its hay related and nothing serious
