Hey everyone, our piggy has bladder sludge, confirmed by a scan. She’s on Metacam and Baytril for seven days, which has been extended for another seven.

She’s doing better but still squeaks when peeing. Since her cage mate passed a month ago, she’s been less active, which has caused the sludge.

Her diet is low in calcium and high in water to help it pass. Do you have any tips to help her? She’s stubborn and only motivated by food, but we’re reluctant to give her treats due to her sensitivity.

(If she doesn’t improve in the next seven days, we’ll go back to the vet, or sooner if it worsens.)

With sludge, it all depends how tightly it is packed in the bladder. Some may be able to come out with a high water intake/frequent and strong urination, but it can need surgical removal particularly if more tightly packed
