Shrap
Junior Guinea Pig
hey guys. Senna (one of the Glasgow 40 rescues) bloated on Saturday night. Though I think I caught it early as her stomach wasn't hard and distended. Just a little podgy looking - had thought possibly pyo. Took her straight to the vet school who ultra sounded her and confirmed gas bloat.
She was put on metoclopramide and baytril and I separated them into separate cages so I could monitor her input/output. i supplemented these meds with gripe water, infacol and fibreplex, although she hadn't stopped eating/pooping - she had slowed down.
She seems to have been back to normal since Monday afternoon although I'm just finishing what I have of the meto and baytril.
Do you think I can put them back together again or should I still be monitoring very very closely her eating etc?
