Dental Blodwen - dental and ringworm

Good luck little Blodwen! I hope it goes well. She'll be much more comfortable when her teeth are sorted. Fingers crossed for tomorrow. Xx

Vets tomorrow for Blodwen's teeth operation... please send Blod some healing vibes or wheeks or prayers... I just have an awful feeling this could be her last night with us, and we hardly know her yet, she's lived with us in ringworm quarantine for exactly 2 weeks now... I feel awful sending in her in for teeth surgery just when she's starting to act a bit normal and trust us, but the vet really thinks the dental surgery is urgent and best done straight away and before she meets the other piggies... she's eating grape slices and beansprouts and spinach and critical care right now, early morning feed tomorrow then vet drop-off at 8.30am and lots of awful waiting...

Bless her, I have my fingers crossed.I really wish there was a way to get her up to Simon x

The waiting is the worst part tomorrow will seem very long until you get that phone call. Sending healing vibes to little Blodders. Christian asked me to let Blod know that she will have a nice sleep and then wake up after and that she may feel a bit funny first of all but it'll be alright after. He says he knows this cos it happened to him.

Thank you everyone! I'm glad piggy daddy was brought up as a farm boy and can be very calm and kind with poorly/doomed animals, I was looking at little Blod and just trying not to cry and panic while she had her dinner just now... she ate 10mls critical care, half a grape, 2 spinach leaves and 8 beansprouts tonight so at least she'll be going into surgery with full guts and a fighting chance after she's had an early morning feed! If she comes home safely then I will make her grated sweet potato and spinach porridge to top up her critical care feeds until she can eat properly...

Good luck little miss Blodwen . Healing vibes by the truckload being sent your way, for such a gorgeous little piggy :luv::wub:
hopefully the lovely vet will fix your wibbly teefies, so you can get lots more cuddles off of Mummy, Daddy & Grandma piggy

Just think it won't be long & you can feel all better & have new friends in your new herd to play with :D:clap:
you're doing a wonderful thing for her, giving her a second chance & finally a whole heap of love that sounds like its been missing in her life until now (well exactly 2wks ago ;) ) i think she's going to want to spend more than just tonight with you guys, she seems to be a little fighter :D
Fingers & paws all tightly crossed for a full & speedy recovery

lots of love the girls & I. x

Thank you that's so kind! I feel awful uprooting her from her family herd that we never knew about, but I imagine her previous owner would otherwise have given her away anyway to someone who wasnt prepared for the vet bills or had her pts when her teeth got too bad. We keep telling Blod she has a new herd waiting for her, or as a plan B at least a caring Aunty Jezebel floofy pig who loves fussing over poorly piggy friends!

somehow i think her family herd of her past life wont be a patch on the new one she's about to embark on :D
even the 'Plan B' sounds lovely, sometimes we all need a floofy Aunty Jezabel fussing over us :tu: x

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers for tomorrow.
I think a lot of us will be on tenterhooks too.
Thank you! I hope Blod will try hard to get well and get to meet her adopted floof Aunty Jez :) I want them to floof about together and snuggle up and probably take a fair few bum baths together as they both wee on their floofy pants quite a lot... we wanted to adopt Blod so lovely Jezebel would have a little submissive floofy friend to hang about with when the rest of the herd were playing a bit rough, and I think they will be perfect company for each other... if only Blod can get well!

If love can get her through this operation on her teeth, then she will be fine. There are so many people here sending healing thoughts and prayers for little Blodwen. She deserves this chance of a new life so much.
Hope all goes well tomorrow. x

Blodwen has gone to the vets, she got checked in by lovely piggy whispering vet Alessandro, head vet Clare should be doing the surgery at 11am, they think the procedure might take an hour then they hope she'll be awake half an hour after that... if everything goes to plan and they can get her syringe feeding this afternoon then she should be home this evening with some loxicom pain relief... I've already been sick twice with nerves!

It is a worrying time for all of you. I know what you're going through as I felt exactly the same 6 months ago when I had to leave Christian in the very capable hands of my vet Rachel who saved his life. I think we all have been where you are now. More calming vibes being sent from me and calming wheaks from my herd. I'm sure Blod will be fine.

Thanks everyone for being so kind, even my mum phoned at 8am to wish Blodwen luck, and my daughter texted too!
I completely trust the vets so its just waiting and hoping and trying to keep busy, I am going to get the vacuum cleaner out and clean up hay which will probably keep me busy until the vet phones :)
