Dental Blodwen - dental and ringworm

We just put an afternoon snack bowl in her cage with tiny amounts of pellets, dry porridge oats, a sliced grape, a spinach leaf, and some grated pumpkin. Tiny amounts of each that I counted and measured so I can check exactly what gets eaten!

Blod is stil nom nom nomming up the hay... but I just realised we've been fussing over Blod so much (then fussing over the other piggies so they didnt feel left out) that I forgot to do an asda shop... wondering if I can somehow make our vegetarian chilli dinner with critical care, hay, and a half eaten carrot cottage soaked in wee as the main ingredients? With half an onion and a tin of tomatoes of course!

Sounds lovely:vom: Wish I was coming for dinner at your place (NOT)

Rather than the vet, maybe you should hug piggy daddy, don't want him getting upset that the piggies are getting all your attention, and he has got Bloddy pig to eat again too :))

Yea, my pigs always eat before me, and a good diet, i eat mainly junk 😭
I would order takeaway but Blod's teeth just cost a month's disposable income... I thought about beans on toast but there's a 30 day supply of critical care in my kitchen cupboard where beans normally live! Maybe I can find some soup...

Pasta with ketchup and grated cheese is the great standby (known as 'daddy pasta') in my household.
I'm going to be eating curried parsnip soup every evening this week as I made enough for 10 for my church Christmas Craft Fair today and it wasn't needed!..

You know, if there's any of that going spare :)) I love parsnip soup, it's my second favourite kind. Also, cheap pasta meals - tin of beans (like bean salad, not baked beans), tin of tomatoes, a few herbs, and pasta. Or minus the beans, they're only there for protein!

Blod is gorgeous, when she is happy running with her friends in that big C&C you will know it was all worth it.

After our eventful summer that saw us at the vets more often than we had days out I can sympathise with you. I decided 2 weeks ago there would be no more food shopping (except fresh piggie veg) until we had emptied the freezer and the tin cupboard while I pay off the credit card. Some of our meal combinations have been nothing if not interesting - mushy peas on toast anyone!

If i eat beans on toast i have to sleep on the sofa its that bad afterwards. Smells like a dead badger on a roadside in the summer🤔🤢

Blod's food bowl was completely empty this morning, and she's getting quite lively and opinionated about what she wants hand feeding, she's using her little paws to bat away whatever piggy daddy picks up and chuckle-grumbling until its what she wants!
Piggy grandma is coming to see her soon, she said she'd buy us take-away pizza in exchange for Blod cuddles :)

Its good that Blodders is beginning to show her true personality it means she is starting to feel settled with you. Its also great that she's eating so her mouth can't be troubling her anymore either. That's a fair exchange Pizza for Piggie cuddles. I would do that any day!

So happy for blod, ive been following your thread from the start, what great people you are for giving the poor girl a second chance at life. Even if you had lost her in the op i would be saying this ofcourse, sounds like shes going to be fine. Shame on you old "owner" ( hate the word) . 👍 enjoy your well earned pizza.

Thanks @Sophie Blane ! Blod pig is doing well, her ringworm looks to have cleared up and she is getting very bossy with piggy daddy and emptying her food dish and spending time in the hay tray :) vet check friday for her and for balding Jezzy floof pig, in seperate carrier boxes which will be interesting!

Have I missed something here? Why is Jezzy Floof Pig balding?

I started a new thread @Betsy I dont know why Jezzy floof's lovely floof pants are going bald... everyone's had 3 expensive rounds of Xeno mite treatment, and I really hope it isnt Blod's ringworm but we've been very careful with hygiene... so back to the vets with poor Jezebel's baldy floof pants, when Blod goes for her check-up on friday!
Luckily I get paid on Thursday and I already warned the family that their xmas gifts this year are cuddling guinea pigs who have spent the xmas money on vet bills :)
