Hey everyone!

My boys Lenny and Rupert a nearly 9 weeks old now, both seem absolutely fine - popcorning and eating 24/7.

The night before last I noticed some dark pee on one of their new white beds (so showed up very obviously) it was almost a rusty/red colour so I immediately worried it had blood in it.

I had them out yesterday and their pee came out slightly pink but somebody told me it could be due to the red pepper and carrot they ate the day before.

This morning I noticed more darker pee on the bed again, so got them out and both of their pee looked quite normal, I soaked it in a tissue and after about an hour it turned pink.

Please can anyone offer advice on this? Don’t want to ignore the start of a potential UTI but if it’s carrot I don’t want to worry. Is it normal for pee to come out clear and turn a different colour?

Thank you in advance! (Trying to add images but i'm new here! Will try add in comments!)

Urine oxidises and will turn a rusty colour after a while and some foods can stain urine but only a vet is can tell you if there is a medical issue occurring. Do have them seen by a vet if you are worried
