Blood in urine

Tomorrow yes they said they would do scans
They may find a stone. Sometimes they can be inoperable though. Fingers crossed its not too bad whatever it is. You may just need a different anibiotic. Its worth mentioning zythromax. I'm not a vet but its sorted my pig out. Have you given any pro biotic?

Try giving a pro biotic. May help your pig start eating and pooing. Pets at home sell one called vetark pro c in a yellow and white tub. Or ask for fibreplex from your vets. Failing all this then give a mushed up healthy poo from another guinea pig ,just mush it in a container with water and syringe it 2 hours after the baytril

I know my vets are going to say it’s too late as he hadnt eaten properly for a week. I think the down turn maybe my fault as I got up for the 3am syringe feed then didnt do it again until 10 after the vets. I thought if I didn’t force feed him he may eat - I think it was a stupid idea I hope I haven’t made him worse.

I didnt syringe feed mine during the night. I normally did about 5pm then 8pm then 11pm go sleep then do it about 5am .do 15ml at a time. What are you stringe feeding anyway? If u have another guinea pig. Make some poop soup. Google it now and try it. It may make all the difference. Il get back to u tomorrow. Also go pick some grass and try that

Well that was crazy! Went to the vet then whilst in the waiting room realised there was poo in his cage. I lifted him out when I got in and there was poo coming out! Not normal just yet but it was there. I wasn’t sure what to do and the nurse wasn’t very nice. So I said I would delay the scan to see if he pops more and eats. Was that the right thing to do? I was worried that he already has had anaesthetic once this week.

If it was me i would be worried about the lack of eating and anasthetic. I think you may have done the right thing. Its hard to know. Did u do what i said try last night? Some sick pigs will only wat grass. And try the poop soup. You can google it

I’m just going to do it as I couldn’t give him things before the X-ray. I did try putting poo in his cage to eat

From a piggie who never stops pooping
Try feeding some grass too. Make sure it isnt treated with any chemicals and not near a road though. My pigs when sick will sometimes only eat grass. Too much can cause bloat though. Just be careful of that

How often do I do poop soup? Does it matter what type of poo it is as long as it’s fresh? I’ve discovered he literally poops himself if he thinks he’s going to the vets so the secret is to put him in his cage then in the car to make him think he is ha ha. He is defo eating all his pops which I read is not uncommon

It is good that you care for him. You are a good owner. I will surely pray for you- you can never have too many prayers!
