Having lost his mate Baby, Donnie seemed to be struggling on his own, Sitting in the cosy that I found Baby in and not so Interested in his food,
We had planned to start introducing both pairs and they had been side by side for at least a week.

I decided it would be best for Donnie to start the official Bonding today.

It’s gone quite well so far
Lots of Humping!
The tense part for me seems to be Anya’s behaviour, she’s kicking him away when he tries to hump her,
But she’s wanting to sniff and gently nibble his face
Food seems to have settled some of the humping down and they do run towards each other when occasionally spooked by various everyday noises that seem enhanced in the different room, bless them ☺️

There hasn’t been any worrying behaviour like squaring off or even Chinning each other
Just the occasional time when Anya or Donnie try to go towards either ones face but they either move away or stay still and let the other sniff with a little tense standing from both them and me when that happens
Which I gather is normal and then feeling out whether the other is going to do something they don’t like ☺️

Here’s hoping it’s a good bond that will occur from this,
And Donnie even ate food with the others and let them steal the veg from him which I found quite sweet ☺️

That sounds really promising! Not all ladies like the humping and if Donnie can learn to respect what the ladies want and go slow with the romance and settle for a bit of ear licking and sharing snacks that sounds good. Theo took about a week to put his little willy away and settle for just being friends with his ladies most of the time :)

I've got everything crossed this works out for you and your piggies. The bonding is sounding very hopeful.

Brilliant news everyone! The Bonding was successful and Little Donnie, Anya and Aurora are now a trio!

They have settled great into their new cage, Everything disinfected down to remove smells and fresh bedding and a mix up of tunnels,
We’ve created a pretty large area for the three of them and they have been happily wandering around the tunnels and what not,

Obviously we’ve decided to keep the huts and things with only one enterance out of the cage till Monday at the earliest just to make sure the bond is tight ☺️

Sows will only accept humping if they are in season or if the are submitting to a boar in terms of dominance.
The kicking is very normal for a sow not in season. If you see other friendly interaction like eye licking, then it means acceptance and affection. ;)
