so the bonding couldn't have gone any better really. literally 3mins of bum sniffing and following each other and that was it! they settled, ate hay, popcorned, slept etc.

she has actually turned out to the dominant one so definitely a wife-pig :)) eddie was worn out bless him! she's very playful, energetic and happy. eddie is so chuffed. personality wise, they're a really great match. and they also look adorable together.

i still need help with her name! cast a vote for me... treacle or mollie? :)
 
since i gave them the whole cage, she seems to want it all. and they're staying at opposite ends away from each other now. any idea why?
 
they're eating hay together now, but still some chasing and bum nudging. should this have stopped by now? maybe i gave them too big an area too soon?
 
They look so lovely together.

I think that is pretty normal, it can go on for a few days. My Tim is always trying to hump poor Sophie.
 
It's taken just over a week for things in my cage to settle down after letting Thor in with my girls - I think it takes a little time :)

I love the name Mollie, and they look gorgeous together! :luv: :drool:
 
it's constant 'squawking' - is that ok? i've got them on the settee now but they're still squawking. never had this happen before. what should i do?
 
i've never had this before after the bonding pen. she wants to get in eds cosy but he doesn't want that. she seems to want more attention from him.

i've taken everything out of the cage, and put down fitch and hay everywhere, then scattered pellets everywhere aswell. and they have two bottles and nothing else now! they just want what the other has, even though there are two of each. :roll:

so far so good though now because they're so interested in the food being everywhere. i will take things more slowly now. i also made the area smaller and will increase when they've learned to share!

pesky piggies :)) she sounds like she's in season. it's that kind of moaning. but then eds moans back! so i have two moaning piggies! :roll:

and we've decided on the name mollie now. mad mollie :))
 
they stopped moaning after i changed the cage to the bare minimum. a couple of moans but nowhere near the same amount. through the night, they both slept under the covered part of the cage. they graze close by to each other aswell.

they've had their breakfast, and a few moans because mollie thought eddie wanted to steal her cucumber. to be fair though, he did :)) but i distracted him for her. :roll:

a few moans now again but nothing major. just being a pair of big kids :))

That's funny that they prefer less space. Something to do with being boy & girl? Anyway sounds like a proper romance is in development!

i think they were seeing the cage area and the run area as separate. the run part doesn't have correx. she was taking over the cage part and sending him to the run! so i don't know if they'll do the same when i give them the run part back aswell. :roll:

i think i'm just used to seeing an auntie figure/young pig relationship, as maisie was much older than eddie. couples seem different. i remember maisie being in season and ches chasing and mounting her. :roll: they were very loved up though so i hope eddie and mollie will be aswell :love:

eta: they've still got a 5x2 section so it's not too bad. the full area usually has the just under 4x2 run area aswell. which i am hoping they will want back soon aswell :))
 
it's so funny to watch them now. eddie is not moaning at all. he's being really laid back and not responding to her moaning :)) he's being really good with her. she's poking him with her nose and he's just not bothered now. :tu: it looks like he's more in charge now actually. i'm so proud of him because he's being really mature. i see him as a baby still :))

So pleased to see the crazy duo are starting to calm down :))
 
Love her name :) So pleased it has all gone well. Can't wait to see more of them

i think he likes her to need him (she wasn't sure about the washing machine noise earlier), but i think last night she was just a bit too intense and he didn't know what to do.

when they were out on the settee last night, everytime mollie 'squawked', eddie ran to me for comfort

i had a little cosy bed infront of me and he dived into that. then mollie wanted to copy him, so as soon as he was out of the bed, she ran and dived in and let me stroke her

she was so nosey on the settee, climbing the sides, watching bisc play, and giving my o/h kisses
