sorry for the weird spacing. i copied and pasted from the rabbit forum and was too lazy to fix the spacing :))

following on from this thread: http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/threads/countdown-to-eddies-new-friend-arriving.117681/

so the bonding couldn't have gone any better really. literally 3mins of bum sniffing and following each other and that was it! they settled, ate hay, popcorned, slept etc.

she has actually turned out to the dominant one so definitely a wife-pig :)) eddie was worn out bless him! she's very playful, energetic and happy. eddie is so chuffed. personality wise, they're a really great match. and they also look adorable together.

here's some pics from the bonding pen. sorry for the blurry ones. i shake alot!

more to follow....
i've never had this before after the bonding pen. she wants to get in eds cosy but he doesn't want that. she seems to want more attention from him.

i've taken everything out of the cage, and put down fitch and hay everywhere, then scattered pellets everywhere aswell. and they have two bottles and nothing else now! they just want what the other has, even though there are two of each.

so far so good though now because they're so interested in the food being everywhere. i will take things more slowly now. i also made the area smaller and will increase when they've learned to share!

pesky piggies :)) she sounds like she's in season. it's that kind of moaning. but then eds moans back! so i have two moaning piggies!

and we've decided on the name mollie now. mad mollie :))

Wlecome Mollie!

Sounds like you have already moved straight from acceptance into the dominance phase; so things are going very well indeed! Sows how are not far off their season can come into it spontaneously when finding themselves suddenly in the presence of a boar.

they definitely accepted each other straight away, even just living next door when she arrived and then literally within a few minutes in the bonding pen. we did wonder whether she was in season last night as i recognised the squawks from when maisie was in season :))

mollie is only my second girl, and this is only my third pairing, so i'm still learning. the other bonds were very similar, so this one threw me a bit when they went back to the main cage. :)) especially because the bonding pen part went amazingly well. x

They will still settle fine together, but right now they are working out the fine print...

going to have a cuddle with them in a bit and then let o/h cuddle them whilst i clean the cage. going to put fleece back in, a large hay area, and some tunnels and boxes aswell. i think they'll be fine now. and if she starts complaining, then i think eddie will just roll his eyes at her and carry on :))

they've now got a nice clean cage. fitch and hay everywhere in the centre, and then a padded fleece blanket either end, two boxes and two tunnels. and of course two water bottles aswell :)) just scattered some dandelion leaves, parsley and a few pellets all over the hay so they're excited about that :))

they both popcorn quite a bit so must be happy

i know i'm posting alot but i'm so excited :)) it's just lovely to see eddie happy again and i just adore them both  mollie actually loves attention which is so nice. and she is fine being picked up straight from the cage, which the others never liked, so i never pushed it and always offered them the carrier to climb into instead, or picked them up in a cosy bed. but mollie isn't bothered at all. and it's not because she's scared. she just lets me and likes to be stroked and sits on our knees and just seems to love affection

Nothing like seeing a bereaved piggy regain its sparkle and come to life again... ;)

They make a beautiful pair and seem to be made for each other!

it is lovely to see eddie so happy again. and with mollie losing her sister back in april, it's just nice they now have each other

I'm so happy for Mollie (and for Eddie, of course).....she just seemed really sad when she was staying with us, she was definitely a lonely girlie  But now, everyone's a winner....except me, as I've lost a customer :D....LOL!.....just kidding, i couldn't be happier! x

aw, i'll have to keep you updated with lots of pigtures :)

:( i bet she was lonely after having been alone for a few months. she just seemed comfortable straight away, with eddie and with us aswell. she's a sweet girl but super nosey :)) i think she was craving more attention definitely because she wants lots from eddie, and us aswell. i've had piggy kisses from her aswell

i forgot to tell you that her previous owner brought us sooo much stuff. it was like christmas :)) a big bag of pellets, bag of hay, fleece blankets, a brush, some chew sticks. she even gave us her carrier. and brought some of her veg aswell. :luv:

Doesn't surprise me, Debbie is such a lovely lady x

definitely seems like mollie was in season because all has been calm since i last posted. they both look so bright and happy together :love::love:

Pleased it has quietened down, do you think it is quiet enough for more PIGTURES Ooops dunno what happened there, must have been a hint :))

i got a couple more pics today to upload. not very good as these two are really hard to get pics of. they hardly show up and mollie especially doesn't stay still :)) she's the most energetic piggy we've had.

weighed her today and she's 945g. clipped a couple of nails that needed doing. black nails  couldn't see a thing!

they have the whole cage back now (just under 9x2 worth of space) and they were so happy. mollie was on the move constantly, re-arranging furniture and popcorning soooo much. eddie needed regular lie-downs :)) and mollie kept going over to his bed to see if he was getting up yet :)) then they'd carry on playing piggy train, and popping together. it was so cute :love::love:

Sounds like a match made in piggie heaven

piggy love :luv: eddie finally let her share the bed aswell  it's just a one piggy size bed but they managed to squash into it! :)) mollie looked sooooo chuffed  soon i'm going to order them a larger bed to see if they will share but with space to move around! :)) i already ordered their main wedding presents - two new cosy beds and a cosy tunnel. so they will hopefully be here this week. :tu:

just waiting for o/h to come off the phone and put the pics on for me. i can't do it :mal:

got my cosy items now. i love the cosy beds from paws up, they're great quality :)
