I had a phone call from my vets today saying that a member of the public had found a very wet bedraggled guinea pig (it was out in all the rain) and had taken it to them. The vet asked if I would like to have it, I said yes if it is a sow as I couldn't have another boar. She turned out to be a gorgeous little creamy coloured thing with a black/brown smudge on her nose. Little thing is a understatement, she doesn't have any hair on her belly and her coat is bald in places with what I assume is mites of some sort. The vets cut her nails as they were wound round three times, they still need more taken off. I think she had been neglected and dumpedpow-pow. It makes me so flippin angry, why do they do thispow-powpow-pow. I just had to give her a bath as she was going mad scratching herself. I don't think she has been handled at all as she was jumping and scratching to get away from me. She is now in a nice warm cage with lots of nice hay (which she hasn't stopped munching since she got here). What would be the best veggie type food to tempt her with anyone got any ideas?. As she is very thin I don't want to give her veggies that may upset her stomach. The lady that found her named her Boo as her little boy used to go the cage and say boo! so going to keep that name as it seems to suit her. I will try and get a piccie up sometime.
