Yes, I just paid £40 for 2 packs inc P&P via DHL from eBay, was really annoyed when I found out my nearest Cost Co was just a sorting depot rather than a public one :(

Oooo Lisa, you and your guinea collection! Heheh!

Good work though, shouldn't have kept the piggie with the rabbits :( xx

Still not decided what to do with him. We'll see.......

I'm just pleased he's away from those rabbits and has access to proper food and water. He's still eating lots and lots. He polished off a huge amount of hay last night for a little squirt.

I'm wondering how he;ll take the wheeeeeeeek for breakfast that goes on around here - will he join in now he's attached to the cage of the louest wheeeeekers?

Quick update on Orson

Okay no wheeking just yet and he's stopped eating and drinking constantly.

Do you think he was just eating and drinking solidly as he was starving or maybe because he only had them for a short time each day where he was before in that stinky cage?

He weighs over 500g so not bad for 3 months.

He's completely petrified though. We've had the odd little popcorn but again nothing like that first night. He did nothing but eat, drink and popcorn the first night.

I've rang my vet and he will see him when he's 4 months and depending on how well (ahem) developed he is may neuter him then or may wait until he's 5 months. So he has 2 or 3 months of living next to the girls first.

They are very interested in him and he in them - he'd love to get in to their quarters but I have to say it really is the next best thing having them side by side. He's not as scared as a lone pig with no other guineas in sight.

Okay just worked out one of my other guineas who was 680g when she was 3 months and this fella is 550g at 3 months. Is that okay?

I'd say fine just smaller boned... so too speak! Fred is only 868 and he is fully grown... he's an "athletic" Build hehe!

I hope he fills out like the girls - but they do have enormous bottoms!

Mork is 1100g! He's almost 7 months!

Mine are 14 weeks old and these are their weights:

Hoggle - 660g
Ludo - 719g

Are they considered normal?

Based on what mine were at that age i'd say they're good weights both of them.

Gosh are yours only 14 weeks bless them! How long have you had them now?

I had one at 4 weeks which was waaaay too young to be leaving her mum and she was 380g and fitted in the palm of my hand. She's huge now!

PS: I am considered certifiably crazy by my family after six new guinea pigs in half a year, so you are not alone!

My friends cant believe that I do Piggie Laundry! lol

I'm glad that you saved the little one from the mean ole rabbits.

Awww poor Orson! I'm happy you saved him from those mean rabbits. Ugh why didn't he just make a cage for him? goodness.

Hey funny this being bumped up :)

I have no idea why he didn't but Orson has been living happily with the girls now for 6 months as the neutered stud. He's a happy happy lad!

Morning Lisa - you naughty girl ;)

I would've done just the same - and told the stall holder a thing or two in my not so subtle way! mallethead

I have plenty of little friends ready and waiting for him here, and a couple of slighty older boys so don't worry I'm sure we'll sort him out a nice one. Have a quick look through my blog for their piccies.

It really made me laugh reading your post - you've got it bad! Well done.

Suzy x

PS just read that this is an old, old thread - scrub finding him a friend then! LOL

I'd been wondering how little Orson was doing :)

Glad he's happily moved in with the girls. How about some pics of the little fella if you get a few minutes ;)

What a great ending to the story. :) I'm so glad you rescued him.

I am glad that Orson now has a loving home! Poor thing, being put in with the rabbits and all... Thank goodness you were able to save him :)

I promise to get some photos of the cheekiest chappy in town as soon as I can! He's a character!

thats the same reason we got flora. We got romeo and then saw this tiny sow in with 2 rabbits and she looked so unhappy so we got her as well...we only went to town to get something to eat. We came home with 2 new additions but forgot the food.
So glad you rescued him from the rabbits.:) his name is really great!

well done for rescuing him, he's a very lucky piggie! Pictures please when you have a chance!
