Hi, have found some tiny black bugs in guinea pig cage whilst doing daily clean, they are about 1mm big. can anyone help me identify what they are and if they are harmful to the guinea pigs, if so, please let me know how to treat.

The guinnea pigs hair does not seem to have any bugs on them and they are fit and healthy.

Thanks

I am not sure what they are.... could be carpet beetles maybe? I use Johnson’s cage ‘n’ hutch for their outdoor enclosures which gets rid of bugs.

I can’t tell what they are. I can only really suggest giving the cage a good clean out And then hopefully whatever they are won’t be attracted back

I’m afraid I can’t tell what they are, either. I would also recommend a thorough deep clean with a designated small pet safe cage cleaner.

They look like a beetle or large ant to me. I would make sure no veggies are left in the cage after an hour of feeding, insects are often attracted to the moisture on veggies, some will lay their eggs in them too x
