I adopted my hairless guinea pig, Willow, a few months ago. She had been dropped of at a veterinary clinic, and never picked up again. She was sent to a guinea pig rescue and well taken care of there.

But, I think her previous owners put her in a wire bottomed cage :( and she got bumblefoot from it. :( At first when I got her , it seemed to hurt to walk. Now, the swelling in her feet has gone down a lot and she walks around a lot, but it isn't gone yet. She has scabs on her front paws, and had an infection in one once. :( Sometimes her scabs come off, but they always come back.

She has a clean dry cage, plenty of food & water, and vitamin C. Is there anything else I can do about this? Any advice will be appreciated :)

i havent a clue sorry, but how sad is that, poor little thing. Imaging your poor baby being in a horrible place and counting down the minutes until their owner picks them up....only they never do....heartless.

Thank god she has you now :)

Thanks doglovinpiggylover :) I don't see how anyone could abandon poor little Willow. She's such a sweetie!

I love getting piggies from rescues, they just seem so grateful to have someone to give them a home and love them. :)
