Burgess Excel shortage

@Bill & Ted my vet told me a lot of the health problems in young guinea pigs is down to mass/poor breeding. The conditions in the 'farms' are awful.
Yes, I think that he’s right. They do seem to suffer with all sorts of things nowadays. Unless it’s because we are just so much more knowledgeable at picking these illness out?
Those farms are terrible, the pet business is an awful industry isn’t it.

At least yours wasn't lonely :( but it never occurred to us to have two
My first piggie and rabbit came as a pair, from neighbours. Poor piggie was bald she had been mounted so much. Separated them straight away, but never thought it get a companion for either, it was unheard of then

Yea it needs to be controlled better. But i dont know how

I think most nuggets/pellets have something in them that aren't the best for piggies, even the grainless ones.

But as long as they're not eating bucket loads of them daily I let them have the ones they like most.

I only intervene if they have bladder issues. And that has only happened to one of mty pigs and I don't think it was the pellets thay caused his problems.

Ted loves his dryed food, he’s a bit of an addict! Well prefers muesli to pellets. (Mix a little together mostly pellets) On an evening he sits at the cage door waiting for the little rattle of the container.

Bill’s enjoys them but not as much, he likes his hay better which is good. I always try and encourage Ted to eat his hay but he’d rather eat the other stuff if he gets a chance! Naughty boy x
