After having to be separated from her brother (they were given to me as 2 brothers but I then discovered it wasn't the case). I got in touch with a shelter near me and they told me about two inseparable sows. I don't know if that would be a good thing, or even possible. What do you think?
Hi!
How old was your girl when she was separated? Sows have their first season between 4-6 weeks while boars start making babies between 3-5 weeks of age - basically as soon as they are weaned.
If they are over that age, you need to treat your girl as potentially pregnant. Please open an ongoing support thread in our specially monitored pregnancy section and read up on our detailed step-by-step guides, which we have written especially for our inexperienced owners being faced with an unplanned pregnancy. A good hay (and not alfalfa) based diet is key for influencing any factors that you can influence in your favour - and incidentally, it will not hurt at all having a perfectly fit and health piggy even if she was lucky to escape!

As to the bonding, it all depends on the personalities involved. All you can do is try but have a plan B with the shelter in case it doesn't work out. Since you have a potentially pregnant piggy, making sure that the shelter sows have had a 2 weeks quarantine is even more important.
