I'm so pleased he's keeping on trucking!

@pig in the city, my vet thought along the same lines as you. She did say that she sees fluid and drooling from nose and mouth when a pig has heart failure, but no issues with Rolo, no pulmonary edema or anything.

I really hope this is a one-off for Cpt Jack! I'm still trying to figure out the best plan of attack for my chronically bloaty boy.

He’s doing well. Full of beans so much so he’s stayed home today. He’s still in his quarantine tank and he’s eating with gusto which is great. I’ve kept him off veggies but is getting his extra vitamin C oxbow disc which he enjoys. Off to ring vets and find next course of action since they weren’t expecting him to survive.
There was no indication of heart issue but he will be going back for a check up and progression.
Timing is pants I’m off to London tomorrow afternoon and return Sunday but a certain chap we all love is going to care for him in my absence and give him his meds. Xx

So he's still doing okay, currently sat in his hay tray corner munching, more meds tonight and he's really resisting quite hard. He also doesn't want his recovery care food as well and would rather eat his hay and nuggets. I've also bought some burgess blackcurrant and oregano nuggets since they are smaller and they smell more appetising. He seems to be enjoying them too.

So tomorrow brings a new day when we weren't expecting it, I've got some more meds, the same for the weekend whilst i'm away from him and then he'll be back at the vets to get another check up. I think it's sensible to know what's happened and whilst he's had medicines I would rather know what was the cause of the gut issue - is there something lurking in the background we're only masking? My clear rationale makes me ask the question.

I'm pleased to hear he's recovering well and tucking into his food, but I'd be wanting to know what the cause was too. Let's hope you can relax enough to enjoy your weekend, knowing he's in safe hands, and then come back Monday, nice and refreshed with a list of questions for the vet.
