Caspy came to us at 5 months old because of a respiratory infection and sadly was taken away by one. He had been very ill and on medication for a month, he needed a home with someone who had time to care for him. He came with a note of his meds from his vet, the note also said his lungs and airways were compromised and she doubted he would make old age.
Caspy was the most active piggy I have ever known, what he lacked in size (he never weighed much more than a kilo) he made up for in energy. 6pm every day he would bite the bars of his cage to be allowed out. He would run around the downstairs of the house and bray like a donkey at any door that was shut. Once content all was well he would sleep under a cupboard until 10pm, veggie time! He loved the run on the lawn in the summer.
Recently he went down with another respiratory infection, he fought for weeks and seemed to be getting better until a few days ago. On Thursday morning he refused his syringe feed and asked me to let him go. I could see in his eyes and body language he was tired and had had enough. The vet agreed we had done all we could and helping him on his way was the right thing to do.
Caspy had a lovely life with his friends as part of a pair 3 times and later as a neighbour to Red, Brillo and Nugget. We all miss him dreadfully the house is so quiet. Night night sweetheartIMG_0265.webpIMG_0439.webpIMG_0564.webpIMG_1260.webpIMG_0398.webp.

So sorry you lost lovely Caspy. It is never easy helping them over the bridge even though they tell you that's what you need to do. Sleep well Caspy and have fun at the Rainbow Bridge.

Given his health when he came to you and the vet’s comment, the fact he lived so long is a real tribute to the love and care you gave him.
He really did land on his paws with you.
He was a very handsome boy who had the best life.
Be gentle with yourself as you grieve now.
Holding you in my heart ♥️

Caspy sounded such a character, you gave him a long and happy life despite his weak chest and he will have known just how much you loved him
