I havent been on here for a few days. But one of my girls who was pregnant and possibly overdue had a ceasarian this week. She was unable to pass the pups, had contractions and could not have them naturally. She was taken to theatre and 4 pups delivered. One died in the theatre, didnt make it recovering from the birth. Although he/she only weighed 58g, so maybe just too small? Another died later in the evening. However we've got two still alive and kicking. Mum has no milk and isnt interested in them so I'm having to hand rear the little humbugs. They are doing really well. Very slowly starting to pick up the idea of eating hay. I'm not sure whats best to show them because mum isnt impressed with having them nearby, but hopefully as time goes on they can start learning to eat on their own. Mum is recovering very well. Shes eating well, started eating just hours after surgery, a little sore (no wonder) and on the road to recovery. Heres a few pics of the little babies for those who want to know. The little fella with the black face didnt make it but i got a few pics before he/she passed away.

Goodnight little babies. :rose:rose

oh bless mummy pig - I've had 3 c-sections so she has my sympathy in terms of pain!

Smiling through tears here at the pics of the surviving tiny mites x)
Beautiful and just sooo perfect x)
Hope mum and surrogate mum are ok :)

Ah bless you, I've been waiting to see how your girlie done since I went away. I'm so sorry to hear you lost the 2 bubbas, but remember you done all you could to ensure they were given the best chance.

Really hope that momma and the babies continue to flourish :))

Sending virtual hugs to you and healing vibes for momma ( and lots of cuddles for the bubbas ) x

Awww they are cute, so sad the other two didn't make it. Did you manage to find a way to feed the two babies if mum has still no milk?x

I am sorry that the birth went so horribly wrong. Mum is probably too traumatised after the op and her birthing instincts are not there to trigger interest in the pups; she also may not have milk. The weight of the pup that died was on the smallish side, but in no way critical; perhaps somehting else was wrong.

I hope that both mum and all three pups have made it through the night!

What beautiful little babies. Really sorry to hear that two didn't survive. I hope these two grow big and strong in your care.

Gentle hugs to mummy-pig, and you too x x
