Junior Guinea Pig
Yesterday I ran out of Timothy Hay so went to the pet shop to get some more. Only problem is the local pet shop in Partick is quite small and deals mostly with reptiles and aquatics so there's very little for other pets, especially small pets such as Piggies and hamsters etc. So I ask the guy behind the counter if he has any hay for guinea pigs and he says yeah and goes to get it. First of all it's burgess hay so I know it's a good brand and my two have had Burgess before, but it's not Timothy hay. Nevertheless I get it (only one the guy has apart from bedding hay).
I get home and made some observations: first of all it's marigold and Dandelion, they like it but thee's dried Dandelion heads in it, which they pull out and leave at the side. Conclusion; they don't like dandelion heads. Second of all, they took to the hay right away. Conclusion; they're not fussy except when it comes to treats.
Just a wee blog-type post to keep y'all updated.
I'm also hoping I can find a dedicated all animal local pet shop as my nearest Pets at homes in Glasgow are the same amount of travel time away from my house but in opposite directions and I can't be doing an hour run (30 mins there and back) everytime the piggies need something like hay cause it was £6.49 for that 1kg of Burgess! oy vey.
