Something isn't right with cheeky :(

Her weight fluctuates between 600-650g , her sister is 1.2!

I've noticed when she eats I can hear a sort of clicking sound as opposed to the normal grinding noise it defiantly comes from her mouth not her lungs. Ive watched her eat the clicking seems to come from the front and when she has the food at the back the clicking stops and ican hear the grinding. She eats slow. Doesn't seem very enthusiastic.

I've been trying to get her to put a bit of weight on. I get her out in the morning and give her a pile of grass and cucumber. In the afternoon I give her some cc. Then later on I get her out again so she has a chance to eat veggies. But still she hasnt put any weight on. I would of thought if I wasn't giving her extras surely she'd be losing seeing how she's not gaining?

Her poops are small to.

:(

Oh poor little baby. How about a vet check up to rule out any problems?

That's the thing she's not long been and he thought her weight was fine " most of the pigs here are about that weight" I was shocked at that tbh given all my others are between 800-1.5!

But yeah I think a check up is in order something's is defiantly not right she's not as cheeky as she is usually either :(

But that is small for a fully grown piggy isnt it? Mine are all heavier then that. It is almost like her little body is not working as it should.:(

The vet said anywhere under 600 and she's underweight so she's on that line . Not underweight but not ideal either. She's not very long though either.

Mmm

My little Poppy was never much more than 650g she was a weeny pig :(

Are her teeth okay? One of mine has the molars growing over the tongue, it isn't a problem yet but it probably will be in the future. It may be worth getting a vet to check her teeth for you.

Yeah she's always been the smaller of the two.

I defiantly think there's something going on with her teeth. The vet didn't check last time but that's not why he was in and there was no issue then.

Well I am sure another check up will be able to work out how her little teeth are doing.

The vet said she had spurs in the back of her mouth but it seems to have been caught in time because there's no cuts or anything in her mouth.

She's just had some cc mush, parsley and coriander and is now snoozing on her chair. She makes me sad!

Well that all sounds like it went well. I am sure now that she has had the treatment she will do well and be able to eat. It sounds like you caught it early on. That is really good news.

Glad she is eating. Keep a close eye on her weight. Did the vet give you any pain killers to give her at home? Sometimes their mouths can be sore after dental work. Lots of recovery vibes to her x

The vet said they have her a painkiller injection.

I've weighed her again and she's not lost anymore. She's eating some veggies now on the sofa and I'll give her some more cc later.

That's excellent news!

She's just done her first loud weeeeek in ages when she heard me making up the cc

King David loves the stuff clever knows when I'm
Making some!

Worrying about her now she was all wobbly before she's had 10ml of water, apple, a green bean and some romane. Now she's settled on my lap. She doesn't seem to want me to leave her when I try to put her in the cage she clambering back to me weeking her head off.

No sleep for mummy tonight

Did Cheeky get just gas or an actual injected anaesthetic? If it was the latter she might still be a bit dopey. If you don't feel she's doing well call the vet and explain her symptoms.

It was injected I think according to the receipt. The vet did say shed be dopey for a while.

I'm just worrying because of what happened with Pogely..

He keeled over and died within seconds 4 days after being snipped. It was probably the worst thing I've ever seen.

She had

Enrofloxacin
Madetpmoidine
Torbugesic
Atipamezole

Good God - what a cocktail! I have a dental piggy too. Different problem though and although he has to go in about once a month for work on his teeth, he just gets a whiff of gas. He is able to eat for himself right away - although for the first 24 hours he has a bit of difficulty picking up food with what must feel like different teeth. However, he just needs teeth burred down, his jaw is misaligned so all teeth don't meet to grind them down. I don't know maybe with spurs where they have to actually operate on the mouth it requires more than gas. Maybe piggy is in pain? Perhaps Cheeky needs painkillers?

Oh so sorry to hear this, you do hear of some boars not making it after the snip. I can understand you being worried, but different procedures, different piggies. Cheeky won't necessarily go like Pogely.
