I get the pip out of the middle first (without squeezing too much cherry juice on the floor...) and then just give it them whole, stalk and all - which they gobble up within seconds =] - I've fed them cherries like this on a few occasions and they seem fine! =]
I know that cherry stones are poisonus and shouldn't be fed but i also read (i cant find the website, still looking) that cherry branches are poisonus too so i wouldn't give them the stalks
Sorry cant cut and paste the site but found this:
POISON NOTES: Cherry fruit is great to eat, but the leaves, bark, twigs and pits of cherries contain dangerous amounts of a cyanide-producing compound.
Most fruit trees that have stones are the most poisinous plum, peach, nectarine, cherry, advacardo leaves and stone almonds I will try and find the site and paste the link
