My guinea pig recently just started to chew on the edge of the chloroplast and I'm not sure why :(.

Unlimited timothy hay, lots of lap and floor time, hideys and I try and move things around in the cage for mental stimulation every so often. His cage pal doesn 't do this as often but for both it's been recently. Both are almost 6 months old.

You can get some binders and put them along the edges so they can’t be chewed on.

Thank you, I'm going to look at those. Do you know if there is a possible health issue causing them to suddenly chew at their chloroplast?

Not that I know of. My boys (I’m looking at you Toffee) chewed at the correx I used in their cage. But it was always when they want food and I’m too slow 🙄 I don’t think they swallowed it as I always found it in the cage on cleaning.
