Okay so I was just sitting watching Toast eat her pellets (I have a sad life:lose:) and she started to choke on one... my heart sunk because I realised I wouldn't have a clue how to help her. Luckily she wasn't choking she just had a bit stuck in her teeth, but I still panicked because I'd be helpless if she was choking for real..

So what would be the best thing to do for a piggy who's choking? Obviously taking them to the vet... but if there wasn't time, what would be the next best thing to do to help?

I would also be interested...very handy to know.
Although one of mine was the same last week and she kept pawing at her mouth etc...and i got a cotton bud, scooped her up and had a look and she had a little bit of pellet stuck which i freed for her.
She's a greedy thing and gobbles anything straight down...so gave her a talking to to slow the heck down

I'd like to know this too. I've rushed Albie to the vet before because he was choking/coughing on something but he'd dislodged (and eaten!) and it before we got there. Luckily my vet is only 3 minutes away (About the only advantage of a tiny rural town!).
