Specialist Cocoa Poorly Lip And Congested. Pls Help. Photos

Little update. Cocoa’s eating fine & seems bright in herself. Her chest doesn’t sound too bad. She’s taking 0.5ml baytril really well. But her lip looks worse to me. Aww bless her! Perhaps a little Vaseline on the lip will help, as it looks dry and could be irritating her x

She’s got the eye cream from the vet I’m putting on twice per day but it is looking dry, you’re right. Will she be ok licking Vaseline? Cocoa is a piggy who loves to lick. Xx
 
Sorry David and Kath, only just seen this. I'm glad Cocoa's ok and is being a good girl for her meds. You're both being fab piggy slaves xx

Her weight is steady.

Fri. 1133.
I'm home 7 ish. Her rumbling has gone. She's eatin and being normal
To me tonight her lip is defo no better I try get a photo when Kath gets home. x

Hi. it does look swollen and to be honest here it looks worse in that photo. She's being normal eating soft food hard food and water hay. Weight is good and steady Heidi keeping her very busy and at cuddles we put cream on from vets isathal but to be truthfully it wipes off as she snuggled up to Kath. She's back Wed to The vets. The Baytril has cleared up her chest againbut we stick to the course.

Good to hear she’s eating all her food like a good girl and her chest has cleared up. She’s such a little poppet. :nod:

yes put a couple bits on.
the stuff vet gave us is same price as gold. lol. IMG-20180317-WA0004.webp3gms. lol. like a free sample you get from a department store. x
 
I’m afraid I think her lip is worse & looks more swollen. It might be sore for her too as she squeeled a little bit when we applied her cream. I’ve applied her cream from vets and vasaline, at separate times of day (so as not to interfere with each other) But she’s maintaining her weight & eating her veggies & hay. Her chest sounds clearer too.
She’s such a sweetheart, she’s so sweet natured & gentle I just want her to get better soon x
 
Fingers crossed it starts to improve soon. If you are concerned about her lip then perhaps a visit to the vet before Wednesday would help?
 
Yeah we thinking the same Ruth. Thank you for your kind thoughts & advice. Have you experienced a swollen guinea piggies lip before? This is a first for me. Xx
 
I haven't to be fair, it's a new one on me too. Is she getting any metacam at all?
