Hi everyone
My guinea pig recently had an episode of bloat. She refused to eat and we got her to the vets pretty quickly. We went to a specialist and he did the whole works on her, so we can rule out bladder, tooth, ovarian issues, etc.
Luckily she pulled through and began eating as normal. This was 4 weeks ago.
Unfortunately since then she has started feeling a little swollen and is gassy. This has lasted for the past week. She is eating and drinking very well (far better than ever before!), and is still active and running around. For the past week she has been on cisapride, zantac, gripe water and against her will a lot of stomach massages. The gas seems to get slightly better by evening but then is back in the morning. I am buying her some grain free pellets this weekend and have stopped her vegetables for the past week until the gas passes
.
Has anyone any ideas what could be causing this?
