Cookie's poorly now :(

Sending Cookie all our hugs and healing vibes for a speedy recovery - it's nervy not seeing your usual vet but certain you will get the treatment she needs.

Just got back from the vets, wasn't our normal vet but he was very nice. Cookie is on Septrin for 7 days, so is Treacle and then we'll take it from there if still blood in urine. Hoping the AB's will clear it up. Got some Metacam also for them. Vet imagines the infection has passed between the 2 of them.

Cookie was not impressed at being examined as normally it is Treacy that gets taken out the box and man handled... She had a slightly shocked expression as it was her lifted out and nibbled my finger on the way back :)) She is now tucking into some lettuce...

Well it's a mixed bag... Megan's Poo's are very wet this morning, so I guess carrot is not a good veg for her... Back to hay for a day till we firm up them try again with different veg. Only thing thats hasn't set her off so far is spinach and green beans... Just can't seem to get Miss Moo on an even keel :(
Treacle seems well (hurrah!) and Cookie's wee last night was clear but there were blood spots on the fleece run but not in the wee patches - it seemed to be by the poo. So not sure what to make of it. 2nd day of AB's today for her. Will be getting an x-ray sorted next week for her if it hasn't cleared up.

Best of luck! I hope that you can work things out eventually for Megan and Cookie.
 
I hope your girls get well soon, such a worry when they are poorly but at least they are in very good hands.

Nothing worse than bladder problems although half the battle is getting the fluid's in if you have co-operating piggies your life will be much easier!

eeeek i found out the hard way too about the veggies.........
The only veg i found that was safe was the green beans, cucumber, peppers (red and green) and some snow peas, everything else would make Onyx very pooey!
Maybe give her a supplementary feed of CC to boost the system. Or soften up some pellets or crush them and syringe feed.

Thanks Glynis. Beans and Spinach are the only to things at the moment causing no issues. Ruled out are Tomatoes, Parsnips, Carrot. Gonna try spring greens tonight. Meg hates pepper unfortunately....
 
Treacle seems well and seen no blood from Cookie for 2 days. Gonna test wee tomorrow - 3 days left of AB's.
Cookie and Treacle both seem well and come to the cage for their medicine each morning and night :)) Bless them they are so good.

Meggy-Moo is still up and down, if I can just find a few more veggies that don't set her off....

Unsure, but I cracked yesterday during a wet poo day and fed her parsley... felt so sorry for her and when checking this morning we had firm poo's! , hoping they are still good at tea.

Gonna get some xrays done and a stool test over next week.
 
Well that has got to be a really good sign! I can imagine how sorry you felt for her not having any vegetables. Poor little girl.
 
Sorry guys i have only been popping on the forum very quickly over the last few days, i missed the update, i am glad Treacy and Cookie and well, bless their cottons, no suggestions for Meggy i am afraid, but wanted to send some kisses and vibes x
