Junior Guinea Pig
Bottom line here is that deaths have and will continue to happen, no country has covered themselves in glory here because they're all learning as they go along. This has never happened before in a modern world where data can be shared almost instantly during a global pandemic. Every country has made mistakes, every country has lost people, every country will be picking up the pieces of this for many years to come. No one was prepared, literally no one. Flinging blame around helps no one get through this and when it's all done and the people who survive it have begun to rebuild the world, it will solve nothing to lay blame then either. Frankly, it is infinitely more important that the world finally realises that it is no longer them and us, but just us, all of us together, against all the MANY things that want us dead.
If we as a species can get a bloody grip and start to eliminate things that cause mass pandemics like this by bringing in better standards of living across the globe, then we'll have done something worth celebrating. That's really all that matters now. Make it through, make it better, honour the people who's lives were lost in this by ensuring we do our best to never let it happen again.
