It's good to hear that this has all settled down now. People give their time for free on this forum so it's not nice to think they are having aggressive behaviour directed at them when they are just trying to help. This is a really friend forum and we would all like it to stay that way:-)
 
I would also like to point out that without 'that woman' 's help, my beautiful, darling boy might not still be with me. So maybe you should THINK before you go slating other people, who have DEDICATED their lives to their pigs and researching, over 25 years actually.

I also didn't appreciate you talking to GiGi that way, but hey you apologised so I'll leave it there. Just maybe THINK before you get all self-righteous. But that is all.

Out of the two nuggets OP asked about, excel are the better of the two.

He wasn't meaning to slate anyone or be self-righteous. He does come across with his opinions as quite strong, and yes maybe seems rude or angry. but that is not how he intends it and is merely trying to gather all facts.
And he has infact just come off an hour long phone chat with 'that woman', which was a nice conversation about facts, guineas, advice, and tips

I'm glad, I really appreciate what she has done for me, and I hope now he has come away informed and understands the opinions of others. :)
 
I respect people's opinions and I said I'll hold my hands up when I'm wrong! I've actually had a rather pleasant hour long conversation with Karen and found her to be a pleasant and intelligent lady.

She certainly knows what she is talking about and I have taken her advice in consideration.

Furry all if what I said earlier facilitated my conversation with her then it's led to a positive.

I don't doubt she knows what she is talking about but you really don't need to bulldoze in 2 hours later and start ruffling feathers again.

In fairness I've taken several pages of notes on what Karen told me on the phone and some of the things were already steps we were looking at.

I understand more now about where the feed information was coming from and perhaps it does warrant looking at.

I just hope that my boys have a lovely happy life and whatever helps that to occur is no bad thing, be it a heated debate on a forum or a phone conversation with a thoroughly nice lady who obviously has a passion for guinea pig care.

Well the mods are aware of it so don't worry yourself about it. They will do what they see fit with this thread. :-)

Glad to see that opinions are being shared between members and we should all remember that the forum is based on sharing of mutual information. One of the down sides to this is that we are all open to different interpretations of the written word so sometimes disagreements will arise but as we all care passionately about our piggies we are able to deal with any concerns other members may have and maintain a friendly forum :nod:

Ultimately the care of our own piggies is our responsibility and sometimes there will be a difference of opinion. In such cases we sometimes need to agree to disagree and continue to post in a friendly non-confrontational manner

I agree. People have come away better informed, apologies have have been made for any misunderstandings an peace has been restored again:-)
 
I am locking this thread so it drops down. Can we please try and be a little nicer when we debate things eh? :)

Piggyfan was expressing her opinion and is a extremely well respected member of this community, she was playing by the forum rules and not promoting any forum by not providing a link to another Guinea Pig Forum. She was certainly not scaremongering in any way shape or form as a poster mentioned

We are all here for the welfare of piggies so lets try and talk about things in the nicest possible manner please and maybe we'll all learn a thing or two in the process.
