I’m just curious as to what everybody feeds their guineas. A lot of places have varying information. I have taken a look at the forum though and am trying to give my guinea pigs more variety in their diet.
Right now for their everyday veggies, they get a leaf of red/green leaf lettuce, a slice of yellow bell pepper and a slice of cucumber. They get radicchio on Tuesday’s and Sundays and a slice of carrot once a week. Do you think that their veggies are giving them enough variety and nutrients? I know most come from their hay and other food sources but I just wanna make they’re getting a good variety. What do you guys give your guineas?

I’m pretty sure there is a diet guide on here somewhere which can help you if you’re stuck.

Mine get unlimited hay, which is what it sounds like you are doing anyway so that’s good! Veggie wise I try to stick to veggies that are high in vitamin C so on a daily mine get a slice of romain hearts each, a whole bell pepper between them, coriander, cucumber and sometimes parsley now and again. I should say that I have 5 piggies so lots of veggies!

I think the rule is a cupful per pig, but like I said there is a diet guide on here ghat explains all this.

Treat wise I tend to give mine carrot, tomato or a piece of fruit but this is very rare and maybe once/twice a month maximum. If I give them anything that is high in sugar it is always a little bit.

For treats mine love a selection of herbs/forage, which I think is better than high in sugar fruits and veg.

Hopefully this helps!

Mine get coriander, bell pepper, lettuce (usually a mix of different lettuces), cucumber daily. I add in spring greens a couple times a week.

They will then get other veg either when they’ve not had them for a while or have them in the fridge - baby sweet corn, rocket, water cress, other herbs such as dill, basil and mint, broccoli, celery etc
I only ever feed high calcium veg infrequently (perhaps once or twice a month), they rarely get carrots (once every couple of months maybe) and fruit (they’ve had fruit about three times in two years)

My piggies get cucumber and pepper pretty much daily, with some sort of leafy salad or herbs that we rotate through the week- a couple of days they get little gem lettuce, or a baby leaf salad mix, a couple of days its coriander, once or twice a week they might get a higher calcium veg like spinach, parsley or very occasionally broccolli- but I always skip the pellets with that meal if they have high calcium veg, as even low calcium pellets contain 4x as much calcium as high calcium veg! They also get small amounts of treat veg like one of two slices of babycorn or carrots (or fruit for my pair that like fruit) once or twice a week, again I skip the pellets if they get treat veg, and its usually when they are in the playpen- chopped very small and hidden as some form of enrichment so they have to really search hard and run round to get it!
My lot are also very partial to beansprouts, not all piggies like them but mine are very keen, beansprouts are a good source of vit C and low calcium, so once or twice a week I might feed beansprouts instead of cucumber or pepper, depending what we have in the fridge :)

Mine get coriander.
Little gem
Romaine lettuce
Cue comber.
Bell peppers.
That's the main part of their diet.
Other things I give them occasionally.
Baby sweetcorn
Mint
Basil
Green beans
Sometimes cabbage but rarely.

I al try to have pepper, lettuce and cucumber in. So they will have those daily. Then I buy a bag of coriander and they’ll have a sprig a day for 1-2 weeks. Green beans are pretty much daily if I have them in. And celery max 3 times a week. They will occasionally (1-2 times a month) get some fruit - usually a sliver of apple or a blueberry. If I buy some broccoli, cabbage, carrot, kale or (pretty much never!) spinach they will have a bit. They got basil at the weekend because the slave-dad bought some to cook with.
