Hi! I was wondering if from this picture it looks like my guinea pig has mites? I called his vet and I’m picking up some Resolution tomorrow. But I am worried about it spreading to my other pig or my kitten who was recently spayed if that is the case.

He has no other symptoms. I’m worried that he’s been sneezing a bit, but i don’t think he’s been excessively scratching or anything of the kind

Hi!

Sorry, parasites require a hands-on vet examination; we can't diagnose them from a dandruff picture. Please be aware that dandruff can have a number of different causes and that by treating on spec for the wrong cause you can make the problem much worse and end up paying a lot more in the long term.

Hello there!
My guinea pig also seem to have similar symptoms of dandruff on her backside.
I wondering did you ever figured out if your Guinea pig have mites or anything to be worried about?

Thank You.

Please do have your piggy seen by a vet for diagnosis and any appropriate prescribed treatment.
