Junior Guinea Pig
This is Darcy. She was a breeding pig up until her recent last litter and the age of three. She was on an add site for only £5 :o
I decided i'd give her a lovely retirement home. x) The trio are not quite sure of her and vice versa. They had a nasty episode where Butler my boar bit her and since then they all just have supervised floor time where she will venture in to the group then run back to me when they get a bit lairy.
She's on her own for the moment and i'm hoping after a few months of floor time with the trio she can go in with them by spring when they go back outside.
I realised the other day the reason she reacts badly to my trio is that i'm almost certain she is blind. She doesn't follow food with he eyes when i'm feeding her she follows her nose. She doesnt react to hands in front of her face at all and I noticed she walks round her cage with one side of her body to the edge all the time for guidance. She also seems to struggle for the first few mins if the cage changes (I dont do this anymore)
She is a very sweet girl who loves hearing me talk to her and is very comfortable with being handled and stroked. She is currently spending her retirement demanding food, wheeking, popcorning and snuggling in for snoozes on my lap x)
Here she is (after my shamefully huge intro :x )
