Days of our Harry (Legacy of Kongo).

Truffle: we never eat fruit 'cept for a tiny bit of apple 🍏
Kongo and Joe would says WHAT!
Joe even ate raspberry. Chip ate so much strawberry one time his poodog was a bit reddish. He never ate a strawberry again after that, though. The best thing he knew was the christmas tree. He yelled "candy tree!". Chip was a unikum.

Lovely to see his little face again. We miss you Djingis 🥰🌈
I miss how diabolical he could be. It was always something with Djingis. He just didn't care about any rules. No boundaries at all. That boy made us loose some night sleep with his tricks!

And before someone gets worried;

No I dont need critical care at all. I eat just fine, with a good appetite. It was a bit low the first week after Kongo left me, but nothing to be worried about. I'm still a chubster!

Hellow!
This is Harry writing from slaves armpit. She was too lazy to take a shower today, I can tell you...

But we are googling pigs looking for homes. Both me and slave took a deep breath when we saw a black texel boy with a crazy hairdo.

Maleslave said we can discuss it when I had 5000likes on my blog.

Okay, maleslave! I can get two friends!

Harry

(IF we're seriously will get a pig? I dont know right now. I miss Kongo like crazy and still looks after him, but I know that situation wont change with or without a new little friend. I know Guinea pigs should have a friend and why, and even though Harry is happy and more than okay with the situation right now it ofc does not or feel right. But we have a roadblock lion, like Djingis says. Maleslave. But Harry has 10 000 likes, so... Who knows?!)

Fingers crossed 4 a ⬛🐑❤️🐾🤞

It's always an incredibly hard decision if you think about taking a break from piggies.
They shouldn't be alone but in the end you either have to foster, rehome or keep the last piggy alone.
I truely believe that no guinea pig should be alone for a longer periode of time because even if they seem allright, they are always happier with a new buddy.
But if you want/need to break the cycle, it's not a good idea to take in a new piggy.
So the main question is if you really want to break the cycle.

For me, guinea pigs are very much a part of my life.
Whenever I have felt really down about them because of all the health problems, I still had piggy/piggies to keep me going. And it's always wonderful to take in a new piggy, especially if it's a little one. Guinea pigs are also a bit addictive. 🤣
So in my case ... fast forward 35 years and I've still got these hairy potatoes. (Just as a warning :inn:)

For me its important to give my pigs the very best. Today we know so much more about pigs and their social needs than we did 30 years ago when I got my first very own pig. Back then boars could not live together at all (!) and castrate a Guinea pig was very rare here in Sweden.
The difference in a pigs needs is also a fact. Kongo was extremely human-orientated and could be truly happy and enjoy life without another pig close, but he also enjoyed having a neighboar to chat with. Harry... I think he's not truly happy without another pig. I think he can be happy and live a pretty good life, but its not gold without another pig.

To be honest; I dont want to break the piggie-cycle. Its maleslave that wants a break, but I can understand his point of view; the pigs was my trauma-baby. It helped me alot with my PTSD and to recover mentally after a little coma (no, not the Kongo foodcoma... The real kind). Four out of seven of our boys this last circle was toofie-monsters (Joe regularly), and between that we had some URI, eye infection and so on to take care of. It has been alot! And maleslave has been very helpful with feeding (Kongo and Joe. Djingis was to crazy for him to handle and Pika was our first CC-baby, he wasn't comfy with trying).

To rehome Harry is really not an option. I dont think a guinea pig should ever be rehomed, and this little dude has been adopted three times now. Its such a stress for pigs to move and get used to their new home, so it would not be fair. However this ends Harry stays with mama, and mama is very much in love with her little sweetheart and the bond we have. I'm not a guinea pig, but as soon as I walk in to the apartment Harry has my full attention. I say hello to him first. Maybe thats why maleslave dont want another one? 😂

Slave is like... Wheeeelp??!? Thats like Harry with a good hairstyle and Kongo with a little smaller bummie??

(Sorry owner of these pigs. I truly want to take them home, though. Beautiful boars!)

Sick piggies are exhausting and teeth issues ... I have had more than my share. 🙈
Maybe you should start to give maleslave a treat anytime you interact with Harry when he's around. To train him to understand better that piggies are great.
Haha, bad thing he is on keto right now! Harry yells at to get off his kale.
Maleslave has learnt to enjoy pigs. Not like I do. But he agrees to have pigs in the future, and I know he was very attached to Kongo and Bob. He is very fascinated by Harry and how cute he is, and Djingis was his very own sh*itshow.

Harry here. Call me Bravey. I looove my new routine; veggie din-din on my magic carpet!

PXL_20260604_182814375.webp

As soon as slave puts the carpet on the floor and open the gate I'm out! So brave!

PXL_20260604_182040309.MP.webp

Its football on tv and maleslave suddenly did some kind of Indigenous dance. I was sure it was some kind of ritual dance from his Indigenous community and he wanted to offer me to some Guinea pig-eating bird. I ran. Slave yelled at maleslave. I came back when she had told him off. But you cant be careful enough, so I draged my piece of cucumber away. I have a great hairstyle right now, thank you!

Hi diary!

PXL_20260605_153805618~2.webp
This is the first thing slave sees when she opens the front door. I can see all the way from my cage and when I hear its slave outside the door I stand like a little soldier. Ready to kill her with my cuteness.

Bangs of the day and some parsley. Its only Friday once a week, friends!

Hellow Notebook!

Did you know I like carrogs? I really do. I really dont understand why slave talks about I only like things I "cant eat every day". What does she mean with that, Notebook? If you can put it in your mouth, you CAN eat it every day! Its just to chew. Spinach, carrot, kale, parsley - I can eat it every day. I chew, slave!

Harry Chewmeister

Yes Notebook, Harry has floortime everyday. Thats very much okay according to the healthy Guinea pig-lifestyle guide.
And he loves it. He gets more and more brave for every day! Now he comes out from his juice box or tunnel as soon as he can hear the slave starts to fold out the carpet, and as soon as she opens he jumps out very happy.
