Would imagine only as a last resort/ after antibiotic sensitivity testing - Would imagine there would be a safer antibiotic. Should only be given via intramuscular injection.
Penicllin based injections are usually given subcutaneously either as it is specifically required for a certain strain of bacteria or as a last resort, but shouldnt be given orally as far as i am aware.

Ive checked the dangerous mediction list on guinea lynx and it suggests any Penicillin bsed drug any route is not safe to give to cavies,as highly toxic .
