Do I need to be bathing my piggie?

There's often no need to bathe short haired piggies. :) If their fur ever starts to smell or feels greasy to the touch, like if you touch them and your hand feels dirty afterwards, then you could bathe them. But try not to do it any more than every 6 weeks (I'm a dog groomer and that's what we recommend for dogs anyway). Some people wash them regularly like that, some people might only do it once or twice a year. :)

I never wash my short haired pigs at all.

I've found with mine if they are bathed every 4-6 months it stops fungaly skin problems. My first two piggys suffered from skin probs and bathing them every few months really did seem to help and kept them lovely and shiney.

This has got to be the best shampoo for piggys:

All there stuff is homemade and works really well, the piggy problems page is also really helpfull.

Hope this helps :)

We bathe the piggies once or twice a year.
Except recently its been more because they need to be bathed.:)
