I can collect Ziggy Pig!
There is an antibiotic to cure it. Its a type of penicillin. I just cant remember the nameMy two guinea pigs have had a form of pneumonia for over a month now, the one whilst having birth twice due to a friend's ignorance when sexing guinea pigs. We haven't found any antibiotic to completely cure it yet, but I finally got one that should work for the one who is not breast feeding.
We have meds, they can’t hear the crackle at the moment so no diuretics but nebulising 4 times a day.Sending love, you got meds to give at home? Any fluid on lungs?
It depends on the type of bacteria strand that is causing the pneumonia though. Not every case is the same, and alot of it depends on the piggies weight, age, and general situation. There is an antibiotic to cure it. Its a type of penicillin. I just cant remember the name
That's good to hear! I wish you both wishes and good luck on the road to recovery! She is home and a whole lot brighter than yesterday. Stil, a bit bewildered and lost looking but eyes open and alert.
the nebuliser will help for sure, sending lots of healing vibes for herWe have meds, they can’t hear the crackle at the moment so no diuretics but nebulising 4 times a day.
everydays a school day. My pigs was strep something pneumonia. Cant quite rememberIt depends on the type of bacteria strand that is causing the pneumonia though. Not every case is the same, and alot of it depends on the piggies weight, age, and general situation.
It happens. You have been quite stressed with your lovely Zig being in pet hospital so not surprising really.I had a bit of a stupid panic, couldn’t remember whether to give the antibiotics tonight or tomorrow, just about to call the out of hours vet and I thought I’ll just check the discharge sheetAll on their, I’m such an idiot.
I am not counting anything as good news. Burt went from eating and pooping to dead in 24 hours - with antibiotics (which had been started 3 days prior at a whopping dose), syringe feeding, sub cut fluids, vitimins, nebulising and eventually gut stimulants.
