Sorry this is long!
Hmm well it would appear that dopple possibly has cervical lymphadenitis, caused by the strep. zooepidemicus bacteria/virus whichever it is.
She's had a damp bum on &off with no visible blood for approx 3wks, took to the vet &given baytril.
Also slightly puffy eyes for a fortnight &had gentamicin (sp?)gel 2x daily with only slight improvement,
She's been eating slower but still has a good appetite.
Then had stringy poops so back to the vet again fibreplex.
Generally a slight improvement.
But Saturday night she had a wet bottom &some bloody residue round her genitalia, then I found shredded paper bedding with a pink tinge to it
Her eyes seem to be more wide open &a little bit of the enlarged white is bloodshot. Still on eyedrops.
She has a small scab on her nose(less hairy bit) slightly snotty too &last night was a bit raspy. So put olbas oil on a cloth near cage.
Back to the vets tonight &he found a rather large lump under her chin/lymph node area.
With raspy /fluid crackly nasal breathing.
She's got loxicom for the pain relief/anti inflammatory UTI related problems too!
The vet is ordering in some zithromax to fight the infection &thinks we may have to drain the lump surgically too.
She's a bit spongy bellied&put back on 50g since visit approx 2wks ago
... Just got over Grace's abscess &now this!
I know its not overly common but does anybody have any words of wisdom or ideas I can discuss with my vet ref this?
Any old related threads seem to be very old &mostly with inactive members.
Looks like human children get in regularly but they are treated usually with penicillin(definite NO for gpigs).
Collecting zithromax tomorrow, might query diuretic/frusimide for her too.
Poor little poppet, she's been snoozing well the last couple of days
Thanks in advance. Xx
