Dryw/Wren's updates thread

Super cute.
Kind of reminded of my boy Finn when he was a baby, just loved his baby popcorns.

She is certainly enjoying that grass! She has grown so much but still looks tiny compared to Pioden:wub:.

While we were away on holiday last week, Dryw has concentrated on growing as much as possible!

She's also learned to eat lying flat on her belly by copying severely arthritic old lady Hedydd:

Wow, she’s suddenly looking like a young lady and no longer a baby.

Shes getting so big! 😍😍😍

She's really changed from baby to youngster - and is not all that far off doubling her weight since her arrival! She is really on a mission to catch up with Pioden!

Aw she got so big so fast! I love it when they suddenly arent a baby anymore, they are growing up! We saw this recently with our Tallulah, one of the kids in our family who hadnt seen her for a month said, rather unflatteringly, " Uh, why did Tallulah get fat?" Which is a bit rude but she's got some adult curves! Also looking at pics of @Merab's Slave 's boy Micah, he was a little stripe of fluff and now he's a proper boar.
One day you notice they just aren't babies anymore they are properly teenage and can confidently hold their own with the big pigs :)

And none of them ever change in the same way either. Blitzen went from having "wavy fur" to "oh lord that's a lot of fur where did that come from" and it really grew right out (yay, shelties), and Comet went from this little thing trying to get his nose into everything to this massive lump trying to get his nose into everything and being able to climb over half the sofa to do it

I'm loving that Dryw has learned to pancake out like Hedydd though. If ever there was an example of how babies learn from the adult pigs, she's it!

I so loved watching little Llelo copying Dylan and practising just the sexact hip swing when sashaying past a sow cage - and then popcorning off thrilled with achievement! Watching the babies grow up in the presence of adults really opens your eyes as to what a crucial development phase in their lives all those poor shop piggies miss out on... :(

Its very true, our Tallulah had no clue how to be a guinea pig really (we got her at 9 or 10 weeks old, she left her mum and auntie at 4 weeks old and her sister was adopted at 8 weeks old) until she married big handsome Ollie pigwig from @pig in the city , she's a very lucky girl to have such a gorgeous laid back husboar who has taught her lots of important piggy things and doesnt mind when she still gets it a bit wrong!

Dryw has grown! They’re a bit (a lot!) like children. One day they still look babyish. Next thing you know they lose that look. Very sweet girl, she’s landed on her paws for sure. And the company of those other piggies must be seventh heaven for her ☺️

This is all so true.

Little Micah really isn't little any more and it's been fascinating watching him learn from the 3 older sows.
The comment about Llelo made me smile - Micah is just the same.
When one of the girls is close he rumbles and struts then zooms off pop corning with excitement at his achievement

Hedydd didn't have a good day yesterday; when I went to medicate Hedydd and get the pen cleaned tidied and set up for the night I found Dryw snuggled up firmly against Hedydd and giving her several piggy kisses before moving away...

@Flutterby

Oh bless her, what a little darling. We hear so much about the difficult relationships and dominance it's easy to forget how caring and sweet they can be with their cage mates. I've been privileged to witness some very touching moments between piggies when one has been ill or scared. I hope Hedydd has a better day tomorrow.
