Dumped pregnant guinea pigs

That makes me so angry! There is no excuse for it. Why not just surrender them to a shelter? You wouldn't abandon your kids like that so why do it with animals?

I do hope that someone has been back to try and catch the remaining pigs.

It's absolutely disgusting, if you have time to dump them you have time to take them to a rescue! Some people are just awful :(

Looks like they have mites, it's more likely that person couldn't afford vet care and therefore realised they couldn't be sold so dumped them. Unfortunately Guinea pigs are seen as a quick money making opportunity, there are thousands of Ads online all selling pet shop bred guinea pigs. Sad reality of the pet industry.

This sort of actions resort me to sadness that last and really hurts. :soz:
I wish them who found the piggies lots of good luck and my best wishes.
Those who dumped them . . . . well the forum regulations don't allow me to comment. :cen:

I didn't mean it as harshly as the written word made it sound, I know this particular "individual" or "individuals" who dumped these pigs are exceptional. It's just a running joke that I don't like people and much prefer animals!
I know things sound harsher in writting. I understand humans cause so much suffering and animals are so peaceful but we are not all bad and unfortunately many good people have to live among masses of bad people :(

My brothers boss who is a van driver, stopped for a desperate pee in a layby ditch and found 4 puppies in a plastic box with a split binbag covering them. The box was flooding due to rain. He took them home and washed n dried them and they all found homes.

Also i have a pet gerbil now that was found by a little girl and her dad in my local park last winter. Shes doing great now. She was tame the moment i got her home, this was in abington park so we named her abi. Just makes me wonder was she dumped with a cagemate because gerbils are normaly kept in pairs

Oh how awful but so glad the puppies and gerbil were found before anything bad happened.

There really are some awful people in this world but thankfully there are also some absolutely amazing ones that can help try to reverse some of the damage done by the scumbags!

How heartbreaking. I really hope at some point those missing piggies appear one by one and haven’t died...

How beautiful are the rescued piggies? ❤️ I don’t understand how people can dump animals :(

small animals are seen by some people as disposable entertainment, and the "owners" have no soul. If they can do this to a living thing, what else are they capable of. Its scary isnt it. The things i would do to them if given the opportunity.

It’s not just small animals as whitenessed by the number of dogs, cats and horses dumped every year. Fortunately, most people are good and kind

Yea i agree. But its how cheap small animals are that worries me.pets@home need to be banned from selling new animals. They should only have their adoption section but make it larger. Taking in more animals off of the rescue they use. And stopping breeders making a business out of the poor animals sold to crap homes. And also they should be doing home checks and put the minimum donation price up

And another thing that doesnt help is that pets@home is always located on a retail park right near shops like dfs, next, tapi carpets and so on. A nightmare for bored kids saying mum can we go to the pet shop after. And so it begins, impulse buy of a gpig or rabbit and so on
