Dying guinea pigs with bloody discharge please help!

I am an employee at a mom and pop pet store and guinea pigs are not my area of expertise. Unfortunatley the owner is a total cheap skate and cares more about money than animals, so he refuses to take sick animals to the vet. So I do the best I can.
In the last week two guinea pigs have died. One of them I know had bloody diarrhea before, the other one I'm not sure. Now a third guinea pig has blood on the anus and is acting very lathargic. I don't want to see another one die. Can anyone give me any idea why this is happening and if theres anything I can do? Please.
 
You need a vet and you need to report the guy you work for he is seriously breaching his licence!
 
The owner is disgusting and should be reported! As soon as any guinea pig bleeds they need to see a vet urgently.
 
Poor piggies. I can't say more than Zarapiggie has. It sound like they need help ASAP.

Hope you get it sorted and I hope The owner gets his license taken off him!
 
As said by other members you need to get the guineapig to a vet asap. And i fully understand the situation this puts you in with your enployer and your job however you can inform the rspca of this cruelty anonymously and they will inspect premises and all animals on it. Please stop this cruelty.
 
You could pm me with the shop details I will report him if you don't want to do it.

As for the piggy try the Pdsa? Explain the situation with your employee they may help you.

It is so upsetting. Hopefully EWG will report the store owner or get someone to put in a complaint. Surely a customer would have noticed and reported?!

I have seriously been considering quiting and reporting him myself, but I'm afraid it will be too late for this piggy. I know it needs vet care but that is out of my hands. I was hoping there would be something I could do, but I know that will be unlikely without a vet. If someone could please give me something I can do now.

Although it may be too late for this piggy you could be saving future piggie lives by reporting him.

Do you not have a local humane society ? they can usually close down people who breach pet shop licences and things.
 
I understand you're an employee and it's your job, but please report this disgusting shop!
I'm sure this can be done discreetly........ even get a family member to do so?
This piggie needs vet attention now.... medications for a possible UTI ? it could be anything, even stones?
Good luck, you obviously care to come on here in the first place THANKYOU..... but reporting and then getting this horrible shop closed down seems the only way for any further little ones being put this horrible hell!

I am getting together with another, former employee to come up with a plan. If I'm gonna do it I want to do it right and go all out because there is more than that that I have on him. I'm really realizing its time to put a stop to it. This guy should not be running a pet store! Thanks for all the help.
 
An anonymous call is all you need...please do not leave it. Think of how many piggies you could potentially be saving if this is investigated.
How is the little one doing :...
Personally, I would take the poorly piggy home and care for it myself. Is this an option ?

Stop fannying about and just do it...
 
Taking the pig home may be an option. So I think I may just do that. And I'm not "fannying about" I'm taking pictures and gathering evidence first, because there are other cases and other illegal things. I'm also going to give them information only I could know so I'm not even gonna bother with being anonymous.
 
absolutely well done, even if you cant save any of the pigs now, you could save future ones from evil lives.
 
What about seeking vet treatment though whilst pictures are being taken and Apparantly coming up with an eastenders style "plan"?
 
I really hope something is done but please try and get this little one treated asap - where are you based ? Maybe a good rescue could assist :...
It really upsets me to think this piggy is suffering and needs help so time is of the essence.
 
I've asked this already as there are several animal charities in America that would help her but I've been told "I'm dealing with it"

you dont need to mess about gathering evidence . The humane society do all that as yours can not be shown in court as you could just have taken photos off the internet or elsewhere. You need to contact the humane society today tell them the situation and its urgency and they will come out obviously see the ill piggys if it is as bad as you make out, and proceed to remove animals give them vet treatment and prosecute the pet store owner and animal supplier also most likely will be investigated. Stop trying to play investigator and call the right people asap and help stop this suffering and uneccesary deaths.

i think your posts are coming across as quite abrupt and rude. The OP has come here to ask for our help and advice not to be spoken to in such a manner. We are all concerned and upset over what the OP is informing us of and have given structured factual advice. Telling her to stop fannying around when he/she is distressed already is not helping matters.
