Dying guinea pigs with bloody discharge please help!

Alright, I get people are upset. Believe me I'm upset. Everyone can relax though because I surrendered the guinea pig to our animal welfare and they're coming tomorrow to investigate. I know what I'm doing and I'm well aware of animal charities in my own city. I came on here to see of there was anything that I could do for the piggie right away. I will be going back tomorrow to find out if the pig made it.

i think your posts are coming across as quite abrupt and rude. The OP has come here to ask for our help and advice not to be spoken to in such a manner. We are all concerned and upset over what the OP is informing us of and have given structured factual advice. Telling her to stop fannying around when he/she is distressed already is not helping matters.

I think people can get upset and angry at the idea of an animal suffering. People desperately wanted action taken immediately, to get the shop reported to help prevent the suffering of the animals and any future animals.

And tbh I reported it too. Just to a US animal welfare group, which I am not sure would be any good as I didn't have much info, but I felt a professional group should be advised ASAP.

Hopefully an inspection has been done and the poorly animals removed.

well they shouldnt be intended to come across as abrupt or rude this is a freindly forum where members come for advice and not agressive messages. I too have zero tolerance to animal cruelty and people standing back and allowing cruelty to go on but the mere fact EWG joined this forum and posted the original thread for help and advice shows he/she was not standing back and allowing it to happen and was infact seeking help for the piggys, unlike such as me or you he/she may not have known what to do or where to go in the form of an animal society etc my 20 year old brother wouldnt have a clue if he was in that position. And please do not be so abrupt when posting messages directed at me please, its childish.

we are not hypocrits at all! We offered EWG advice and opinions when she asked for it, and he she obviously thought he she was doing the right thing by taking photos etc, I'm glad to hear you played your part and contacted the animal control etc but there is no need to be rude obnoxious or abrupt towards someone who is bound to be distressed and worried already. End of. Il discuss this no further.

Well, I have bad news. I went back to animal welfare yesterday and unfortunately the guinea pig had a bad bacterial infection and had to be euthanized. Atleast she is no longer suffering. Animal control inspected the shop and questioned the owner. That is all I know for now. I'm just worried my word and one guinea pig won't be enough for a prosecution. We'll see, fingers crossed. Frankly we have a pretty crappy animal welfare system here. Thanks for all the advice and encouragement, it really helped.

did yoy inform the investigators of the other dead ill piggys you mentioned in original posts and his attitude towards the ill piggys. Even of he isnt shut down i am sure they will be breathing down his neck in future and hopefully things will improve. If it were me hed be shut down asap but unfortunatly theyl have to follow procedures and laws so... But welldone for nipping this in the bud.. :-) .. Poor piggy though :-( x
