I never heared them purr before and moo went up to nibbles purred his heart out and nuzzled him.
they both ate.
nibbles wouldnt stop jumping moo.
when does he ever stop.
They had veggie treats for clipping there nails and took veggies from out each other mouths and said mine! No!

I didnt boil water or anything i had some h2ocean peirceing cleaner. Salt water purified solution
And sprayed on a cotton ball and swiprd his neck. Had to fight him.
there back in there cage sith a divider.
but his neck looked bad and fur was ripped out. I still dont know.

The vet should be able to tell by looking at his wound.

As @Flutterby asking, have you booked him into the vets yet? he might need antibiotics, if they do give him antibiotics, remember to get some probiotics. I don't know the brands in the US though :(

Ive been up sence last night agian very sleepy and tierd.
I'm taking them today.
I dont understand.
Moo was snuzzling him before we noticed the wound. Then later i set them down together and they teeth chatterd and moo went straight to his throat or wound cant tell if licking if nibbling.
But kf it was to lick it why teeth chatter loudly?
And later last night i put them both in a tub supervised and moo purred loudly snd nuzzled him closely.

It's just dominance behaviour, you worry too much :P Wait and see what the vet says about the wound and get some advice from them about the teeth chattering etc. :) Hopefully it's what Wiebke said and not a bite. Our girls were chattering their teeth at each other the other day, as long as they aren't kicking the snot out of each other, we just leave them to it and just keep an eye on them.

My two himi's had a fight, they wounded each other but it was more puncture holes than a big open wound, one also cut his paw. We cleaned them up and they were fine, but we had to split because we had witnessed them have a proper full on fight.

My boys had a massive fight and one had some nasty bites. When boars draw blood they very very rarely will interact positively with eachother again. I am no expert but that as others state does not look like a bite.

The bites Edgar had from Poe looked long and rectangular. I agree it does look like a burst cyst or something.

The fact they are still nuzzling ect is positive. Maybe the other piggy keeps going there to help " clean " its a natural reaction for bonded animals to groom and look after eachother.

Also seeing pigs fight its a very awkward area for another pig to attack the underside of the throat, normally they mount etc so majority of wounds were on my boys backs and sides.
I.may be wrong however

Good luck at the vets

He went to vet I'm writing what happened now its going to take me a minute I'm going to ask everyones personal thoughts an impinions its very importan to me. Thanks!

He went to the vet nibbs.
And the male vet picked him up on his back so his tunmy was pointing up. And when he got a look he squirted blood all over.
It was what you guys said he had. They took him in the back and shaved his neck and got the rest of what theh could blood snd pus out.
I have cherry flavored antibiotics
To give nibbles twice a day. I showed them a picture of moos ear and they said because what it looks like and fluid leaking he has the same thing To get him in next week and share nibbs medicine for now then when i get moo in and moos mediicne to share it with nibbs.
160usd vet bill.
I'm over 1000dollars in them and ive only had them 2-4months.

He said it looked like a fight wound or not look but it probaly was and it happened in my care sence i bought him.
But then he said it could of been one of there nails or a toy or something like a needle size and it got built up and exploded he cant tell.
Its open flesh they shaved him and he is kind of bloody still.
I was talking to the vet and no warning he squirted blood all over the room upwards j swear some went in my mouth but anyways.
I dont know what to do.
Said to use cage divider like I'm doing now and seperate them till its healed and okay and steady.
So they both have one.
Moo moo on ear
And nibbles ln throat.

Now may i say when i first saw nibbs and the hole was there there was ripped furr on the wound ripped and hanging out.
But vet said if it was recent fight or what not there would not be so much built up pus.

Let them heal and give them one more try.

But i want to understand what the hell happend.

Please help.

I mean, thats a weird place to get hurt on by a toy or something his throat.
And nibbs and moo when i put them in a play pin yesterday got attitudes and loud teeth chattering and moo went straight to his throat. I couldnt tell what. If he 1. Nibbled it or tried to bite or 2.was licking it.
But why teeth chatter loudly and get ready for a fight rush over and then lick it?

But thennnnnn. N. Nnnnnnnnnnn

I am very sorry that you are having such a tough ride! What a nightmare! Poor Nibbles! :(

Could you please give us the name of antibiotic, the concentration and Nibble's weight. You should find the necessary information on the label.

It sounds like a rather nasty abscess. Abscesses happen when wounds get infected under the skin, so they cannot heal off and the infected pus builds up over the course of quite a few days. Bites or swipes with claws are not exactly clean and can easily get infected, especially if you do not notice and disinfect it straight away, which is not all that likely considering that it is not in one of the most visible areas, so please don't blame yourself.

It also means that any abscess needs to heal from the inside out. You need to work the scab off and flush the wound with saline solution at least one daily and also get any new build up of pus etc. out. It is pretty unpleasant, but necessary, as otherwise, the abscess will come back and back. Please use either use one-use gloves or carefully wash your hands before and after. :(
I am tagging our abscess specialists for you. @furryfriends (TEAS) @MintyAndGarry (TEAS)

In your case, I think that Moo going for his throat and licking it is a normal reaction from a companion to a burst abscess; Moo wanted to help in this case as guinea pig saliva is healing. It rather argues for the wound being rather an accident than the result of a nasty fight.

Ill check now.
Should i give them another chance like the vet said?
I mean id really hate for the divider to be up.
This morning i put them in a tub together and moo purred his heart out and nuzzled nibbles.
But there so bi polar.
I dont understand

Your boys are in the teenage months, which is the most difficult period. See whether Nibbles wants to be back with Moo or not - but please on neutral territory. If in doubt, keep them separated until they are both better.

PS: what did the vet say about Moo's ear? You have not been clear about that.

PS2: Can you please give us the details of his medication.

Weighs 2.1ozs nibbs

Add twice a day per 12hrs.
Smztmp oral suspension
0.4ml by mouth every 12hrs
Liquid

Moos ear.

To come back nest week and look at it.
Probaly pop it open and get the pus out. And medicine same as nibbles.

And even if they look healed the pus can come back a few months later and we can talk surgery

Thanks! As I suspected.

This is the reason why you need to make sure that any abscess need to be kept open for as long as possible and needs to be flushed and drained daily, so it can really heal from the inside out - that is the only way to prevent it returning. it is not a joyous job, but one that is vital.

Could you please look up your antibiotic? It should be on the bottle label or you can get the name and dosage from the vets.
