Eriathwens piggies

Thankyou guys, I figured I'd drop in to show the hardship I have to go through most mornings with Silver... how can you wake that little face up for medications 🤣🤣🥰 isn't he cute. Bless him. But he does make me feel guilty.

My health is about the same, the latest blood test showed my B12 wasn't good so I've got injections of that 3 times a week for 2 weeks starting tomorrow, fingers crossed that helps. The bleeding seems to have slowed which is good but I'm still bloated and painful, still no news of when I'll be getting an ultrasound but she did say it would take 6 weeks which we aren't at yet.

I have some plans for Silver but I'm not voicing them as the last 3 times I've done that, the pig in question has dropped dead.. 🥲 so fingers crossed this time plans actually go through!

Hope you get your ultrasound soon and feel better.

So unfortunately I'm not back with good news 😔 Silver has taken a turn, very similar to Forrest did before he passed, although he still has a little more fight in him than Forrest did.

If he makes it to Wednesday, it'll be Silvers 4th birthday. Fingers crossed. I'll be trying to get him into the vet tomorrow, I cant see any issues with his teeth, he's always had a misshapen jaw but it doesn't look right. He's covered in drool, I'm not sure if he's been making a mess of himself with his water bottle or if he's genuinely drooling.

He is taking and eating critical care perfectly fine from the syringe, I was expecting him to drool and spit it out given the state of him but nope, he's also trying really hard to eat the mint leaves I've brought in from the garden.

I'm wondering if maybe his neuro issues have caused some facial numbness?

Hopefully we will find out tomorrow

Thanks all, I really hope whatever it is is something simple, poor little man is having a nice nap atm. I was hoping to get a break from the vets for a bit after a bit of a nightmare with our cat earlier in the week, poor thing looks like a naked mole rat currently after being shaved for lots of bloodwork and an ultrasound.

So sorry that gorgeous Silver is struggling.
Hope the vet can help him.
Four would be an amazing age given his issues, and that is due to your care.
He’s one of my forum favourites 🥰

Hope the cat is ok too

Thanks, Willow is as OK as he can be, he had been vomiting a lot, at one point even small amounts of blood which was obviously pretty scary! And started having issues breathing. At the moment we're monitoring him and hoping he continues to get better although we aren't 100% certain on what is actually wrong with him other than being mildly anemic..triaditis, IBD, leukemia, lymphoma, pancreatitis and probably something I've forgotten were all mentioned as possibilities but he doesn't really seem to fit any specific diagnosis.

So it's a waiting game really, until he shows more symptoms. I'll probably see if his bloods can be repeated in a few months to see what direction we're going in, hopefully his b12, RBC, pancreatic enzymes and whatever else are back to normal 😔 but that'll have to wait a while because of his behaviour, he has to be fully sedated, he went in with special measures last time which is usually for dangerous dogs 😅 bless him. And at 13 I'd rather not put him through aneasthetic too frequently.

In better news, I've just finished feeding Silver (and giving him fluids) and he's an awful lot perkier than he was earlier, he's been stealing and throwing around his syringes of food. His soaked chin has also dried. I'm not going to hold my breath, but fingers crossed we caught whatever it is in time. I wonder if he got something stuck in his mouth? Still worth a check up though, can't be too careful.

He is lucky he has such a capable mom ❤️
