Happy birthday Bella. Hope that your human is feeling better soon. x

Very worried slave tonight, in spite of a clean bill of health not so long ago for our meds recheck..Amber isn't doing well. She seemed a little off yesterday but I couldn't quite put my finger on why. Tonight I went to do meds and she's sat under the hay, normally she's the first one out at the bars for her metacam. She's nibbling food and still pooping but they're small. She had crusty eyes and has lumps under each armpit 🥺 I really hope it isn't what Cherry had! I've started her on emeprid and antibiotics, alarm set for 8:25 to make sure I'm straight on the phone to the vet when they open, really hope I can see my usual vet, I've got a feeling he isnt going to be there and there's no way I'm taking her to the one who first saw Cherry and opted to do nothing.

I'm so tired of losing my piggies.. this week is bad enough with a funeral to attend, so I hope its something we can actually fix this time. They go into boarding on the 22nd so I dont want to put this on someone else! Even though the place I found seems incredible, I still struggle handing them over at the best of time, never mind when they're ill. Someone who doesn't know them can't tell when they're not acting themselves!

Thanks guys, managed to be first on the phone, got her being seen at 2:15 with our usual vet! So I get to go back to bed for an hour or so as I've barely slept. She's a little more vocal this morning, crust hasn't come back but she's still hiding under the hay looking a bit miserable. So hopefully whatever it is I've caught it quickly, poor girl.

Fingers crossed for her. That’s good you got an appointment with the vet you trust too. Sorry it’s been such a hard time and this is already a difficult week for you.

Back from the vet, nothing terrible found other than her kidneys, especially the left one, were very painful so hopefully just a kidney infection. Her bladder was small so no blockage, but her urine is a nice bright orange colour. She is a little improved from last night, hopefully jumping in early with the meds has helped, she's to stay on the antibiotics for a week and we will go from there!

Vets phoned, typically she's back to eating and stopped rolling, using her legs normally as well. Her back left foot is very pale though, I'm concerned about a possible blood clot but there's not much they can do for that. I've opted to increase her metacam to the max dose of 0.9ml, and monitor, theyre open until 7 so I can call back if I need anything. The other option was to take her down for an injection of buprenorphine however as she has started eating a little, I'm concerned the bupe will knock her out too much and stop her eating which they agreed. I hope that was the right call.. I also gave her some panacur because of how wobbly she was and she lives in my group that has EC carried in it so a precaution.

I've a feeling it's going to be a long night, but if I can get her passing some urine and poops I'll be happy. Hopefully she's just sore from having her kidneys palpated.
Attempting to do all this on just 4 hours sleep, so I hope I'm making the right decisions for her.
